Hello all my fellow Mac-a-holics. My name is JNelly and I am from Brooklyn NY and I am new to this site. I found about this site by lurking in the makeup section at blackhairmedia.com. I am a budding mac-a-holic. I am currently in grad school and work part time, so my funds don't allow me to indulge in my obsession as much as I would like to. I love all of the colors, but sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed and I don't end up getting anything

. Right now I have about 13 different eye shadows but I feel I always choose the same dark colors, but yesterday I did buy the orange matte eyeshadow ( I am trying). I just wanted to ask my fellow MAC mavens, what are some basic eye shadows, lip, glosses, blushes, that I should get ( I wear foundation studio tech NC50 and I mix it with NW45 Select Cover Up). Personally, I would say buy every single palette, gloss and god knows what from MAC but I don't think your budget can handle that

Take a look at the Beauty of Color forum for some tips or suggestions.

welcome! i hope you have fun on here. you should check out the swatch thread so you can look at pics of what mac and other brands look like on the skin. you can even request swatches on certain colours - this helps me decide what colours to buy

My personal favorites for eyeshadows are: Dazzlelight, club, steamy, Rated R, Electra, Mythology, and Knight Divine. I don't have many lippies from MAC but I have "Naked Space" from the Neo Sci-Fi collection and i love it.
