Welcome!
Ah, sanitizing!! Once it becomes a habit, it's a piece of cake...but making it into a habit is work!
Anyway:
Make sure you start by sanitizing your hands. If you can wash them, too, that's a plus (some counters are near sinks).
Make sure your petri dishes are sanitized with alcohol before you pour anything into them.
Foundations and anything liquid should be poured into a petri dish, not applied to the back of your hand (make sure you wipe the neck of the bottles with a tissue before pouring as well).
Powder products (shadows, blush, etc) should be wiped with a tissue before use.
Cream products such as Fluidlines, CCB, Studio Tech, Shade Sticks, Paints, etc should be either (a) scooped out with a spatula or squeezed out into a petri dish; or (2) dipped in alcohol, then broken off into a petri dish and applied with a brush (some counters just dip items such as Shade Sticks, lipliners, eyeliners, etc. can be used straight from the tube after dipping in alcohol.)
Non-retractable lip and eyeliners need to be (1) dipped in alcohol; (2) sharpened; and (3) dipped again.
I am sure I have forgotten some sanitizing steps, but these are the ones that stand out the most. Hope this helps!
