ive been using noxema, and its kept my breakouts at bay but the overall look of my skin is just blah, my skin doesnt look, idk, fresh, im just not really happy with it... so any suggestions for a good cleanser?

i have acne prone skin.. but sooo many cleansers dry me out, like really bad, BUT i have really oily skin lol, odd combo

like once i tried this gel cleanser from st ives and no kidding, the 1st time i used it my nose started 2 peel and the skin looked like it was cracking :/ so then i tried cetaphil.. but it doesnt help with the breakouts

thanks for ur help, i appreciate it

its frustrating, i cant find a cleanser that is the right combo

Hello...I had super oily skin myself. I started using the Clinique 3 piece Acne Solutions kit (soap, toner, moisturizer) and my skin is not as oily anymore and is super duper soft.

It's a little pricey (but waaay worth it) Dr. Perricone's Nutritive Cleanser with DMEA I could never be without it. It not only helps with any acne, it replenishes the skin with what it needs. And, if a pimple starts to form, i just put a small dab of it right on the breakout before going to bed and it totally heals it.

You could always get a sample of it at Sephora before buying to see if it works for you.

DRINK MORE WATER! it seriously helps with oily skin

i use olay's deep cleansing face wash with witch hazel for combo/oily skin, it doesn't dry my face out like other foaming cleansers. and always remember to moisturize. i use a light oil-free moisturizer during the day and a thicker night cream. i realized that i wasn't moisturizing my skin properly so it produced even more oils...and consequently more zits.

this isn't a quick solution to your problem but sometimes a change in diet might help with the oilies and acne. and beauty sleep!

I love Alba Organics Hawaiian Pineapple Enzyme Cleanser.

It washed off my makeup, cleansed my skin and didn't overdry. It's organic/natural and it smells great.

Oh and I have combo, oily skin.

Angels on Bare Skin or Fresh Pharmacy followed by Tea Tree Toner. Then go for Enzymion face moisturizer. All by Lush.

ETA : And if you felt like it, Cupcake face mask. It rocks for acne prone skin but doesn't leave you feeling dry.

Since you have oily skin you shouldn't use cream cleansers. You should use gel based cleansers.

Purpose Gel Cleanser
Clean and Clear Sensitive Skin Cleanser

Thats if you have to go to walmart or target to get your cleansers.

But if you have whole food stores near you, I would get one of the following.

Mychelle Cranberry Cleanser
Mychelle Fruit Enzyme Cleanser
Dessert Essence Thoroughly Clean Cleanser with Tea Tree and ???

Hope this helps. I have oily skin too. I usually don't break out..but I've been trying a couple new things and I have two pimples right now. Yuck.
