I hate it when magazines make MAC mistakes...

Just flicking through Heat magazine & I came across the 'Top Ten Beauty Buys' page.. under 'eyeshadow', they have a picture of the holiday lip palette in 'Devoted Poppy' :/ haha.
It says 'MAC's new Passions of Red range will add drama to any make-up bag. We're lusting over the coral shades. MAC eye compact in Devoted Poppy, £20'.
I guess they are partially right... its coral, its called Devoted Poppy, the price is right.... but its lipstick, not eyeshadow haha.

Don't really fancy spreading lipstick over my eyelids, do you? Haha. I always see MAC mistakes in magazines, there was one in Grazia but I can't remember what it was now.

Anyone else seen any magazine MAC mistakes??

Well... sorta. Once in a magazine, they said MAC eyeshadows were $13 and I was like, "Um, no! They're about $15!"
Then I realized the magazine was from 2004.

more mag had the neon pink pigment and just called it pink eye powder rather than calling it what it actually is!!

and also i think it may have been cosmo who called one of teh reflects glitters by the wrong name and didn't mention it was only a pro product

Yep, nearly everytime I see something in mags its wrong. Cant think of any to date. But the worst thing is when they mention pro only or LE collections from way back... customers then bring those mags in and cannot understand why its in THIS months magazine but we tell em it was out two months ago and only for that month. I think In Style clocked onto the N Collection in like August, when it was released in Feb -great job!

In one of my British Glamours they had MAC's Hot Contrast Mineralize Eyeshadow listed as Black. I was irked to say the least.

In Glamour(I think) when Fafi was out they had 'Hipness' blush, but the picture for it was a round blush split in two with pinkish-red on one side and a coral colour on the other. Weird.

I like emailing them when I find stuff like this - it's always pretty funny when you get the response. It's usually something lame, like their makeup expert wasn't available during the final printing. Um, ok, then how about you make sure it's right WAY before you print? LOL.

Sometimes they print a retraction if it's a big enough issue or enough people mail them about the same thing.

In an issue of Allure, some woman was quoting that her favorite eye shadow was "Satin Taupe Frost" by MAC. Like "frost" is part of the whole name.

It pisses me off when I see LE items in a mag, but it doesnt say its LE. Ive seen Light Flush MSF and the pearlglide liners in cosmopolitan i think, and I think they really should mention that its LE, because someone could go in and not understand that thousands of Specktra-MAC-freaks already bought all the stock

I know someone already said this but still.

omg. that happened to me this past summer. I was reading Jane Magazine and they had this gorgeous Estee Lauder lipgloss. So I went to Dillards after work b/c I wanted to pick up a tube. So, all the women at the Estee Lauder counter looked for it like mad crazy until their manager came up and realized that it was part of some sort of promo or le collection for Estee. Over a year ago. The magazine was the previous months issue, at the oldest.

I was so bummed.

Magazines really need to get their facts straight before printing.

Oh, and if any of you come across a Pink Light lipgloss ANYWHERE I will buy it from you!!!!! I still want that gloss....

On a happier note, I was just reading a bridal mag and the looks they showed for brides had some MAC products listed. They were all accurate (names even listed and what kind of product it was etc.) and up to date. I was very pleased.

If one of Finlands biggest Womens magazines bueaty extra there was mentioned MAC l/s wiht names like "A28" and "A38" and e/s called "Carbon Matte" and blush called "MAC Sheertone Blush in shade A 27 Pink Swoon".
MAC is relatively new here, we've had it only for little over a year and still have only one counter in the whole country, but still for a magazine as big as that I think it's a huuuge mistake.

That's so weird, it's like they included the batch codes in the names! Do your research, magazine editors!

The latest to hit MAC stores, Metal Urge Brushed Metal Powder will take you from desktop dreary to dancefloor diva. MAC Brushed Metal Powder in Fuchsia, £12'

WHAAAAT!
a) 'Brushed Metal Powder' - argh, no explanation needed!
b) Fuschia isn't even a part of Metal Urge
c) I WISH pigments were £12... they're £15!!

Gah, shall I email them??

Remember to tell them it almost caused you to choke on your Pret focaccia or something of that nature.
