I just watched the DVD that comes in the MUFE Essential Eyes kit...

And the artist/founder does all of the looks with a SPONGE TIP APPLICATOR. Not one time did I see her use an actual makeup brush...and I'm stunned. It's not even a spongetip with a handle or wand on it. It's like the metal piece and the sponge, and that's all.

I'm seriously 5 seconds away from burning all of my eye shadow brushes. No joke.

sponge applicators have pros and cons.

they can give very heavy application (vibrant colour) quite easily BUT:

you need a separate one for each colour you're going to use ass you can't just flick the colour off them as you would with a brush

they "eat" a lot of product, so you use a lot more e/s

they fall apart quicker than a brush would

they can take longer to dry than a brush would

Keep in mind also- the kit came with that same sponge tip. Since the CD is meant to show how to utilize the items in the kit, it makes the most sense for her to use what comes with the kit.

 ITA. You already know there's more than one way to skin a cat. There are so many ways to achieve these looks. Some people don't own any brushes and still look flawless.

i'm just like wow because i always have a shitty time with sponge tips. i absolutely hate them, because they do eat a lot of product and you basically would have to try and find a way to wash one without ruining it or throw them away, and i never thought they'd do well for blending, but everything just looked so perfect with that itty bitty shitty little sponge tip, which i almost threw away when i opened up my kit lol
