I might just splurge on MAC but I need help!

hey guys, I'm going out of state Saturday where there might be a CCO I can stop at.
I have a bunch of questions. I'm not familiar with MAC products, and I only have a few.

I first went to MAC for a concealer, and she said I was an NC42. But they didn't have the NC42 in cream concealer, so she gave me liquid (hate it). A year and a half later, I went into MAC for a powder foundation, and another lady gave me Studio Fix C4. I figured everything is named weird, so I never paid it any mind. But I was just on the MAC website and they have NC42 in Studio Fix foundation. I'm not sure if I should have the exact same shade in concealer as I wear in foundation, or what. should I just stick with my C4 foundation, and pick up an NC42 pot concealer?

mineralize skin finishes-I don't even know how to pick the right one out for me. Will this give me a dewy look (which is what i'm kinda going for)? do I need a bronzer if I'm going to be using this?

what are some eyeliners/shadows/pigments (products in general) that I can't go wrong with? (i'm not afraid of colors, so they don't all have to be neutral) I have 1 MAC shadow, and its Print lol.

Thanks guys for all your help!

I concur with MACATTAK; I would have suggested the very same eye colors. Unfortunately, I don't even own a MSF (sad, but true) ~ Pigments, e/s, and eye color in general are my (MAC) thing. CCO staff are not trained in color matching, so you may want to hit your local counter before you go out of town to get an idea what foundation/concealer would be best for you. GOOD LUCK & have lots of fun!

For your skintone, purples, teals and silvers would look great too

Or any metallics.

Pigments- Violet, Silver Fog, Vanilla (can be used as highlighter for your face instead of MSF for that dewy look)
Eyeshadow- Amber Lights, Goldmine, Electra, Stars n' Rockets, Steamy/SHimmermoss
Eyeliner- Smolder (black), Permaplum, Tealo, Tarnished, Foxy Lady etc

For MSF, you can check out Global Glow if it's still available...it could be a bronzer/highlighter all in one but I suggest you try it out first.

for concealer: if you're just wearing foundation alone, it should match your skintone but if you wear it under the eyes, it should be 1-2 shades lighter.

i'm kind of confused. I want a concealer for my pimples/old scars and i guess for under the eyes too. does that mean I should get NC42 (like the lady at MAC told me) and keep using my C4 foundation?

Last time I went to the CCO, I was able to get the holiday brush set from 2006. You may want to check that out if you're needing brushes

Concealer for undereye circles should be 1-2 shades lighter than your foundation shade.

If you are just using concealer only to cover certain parts of your face (and not using a foundation over it), then it should be in your foundation shade.

If you are using it to only cover up pimples or scars (reddish colored spots), I would use something with a green base. I don't think MAC even offers something like that but a green-based concealer will offset the redness.

HTH!
