Ah the possibilities and combination with makeup are endless.. Smokey look, Bright look, neural look, chic, night clubbing..

I guess since I'm mostly familiar with mac, mac is a great company, its a high end brand but cheaper compared to other brands such as nars or Chanel, great quality and colors, just don't get suckered into the L/E hype like many of us do!

Mac products.. you may be interested in.. that are easy to work with

Urban Decay Primer Potion aka UDPP, makes eyeshadow last longer and appear more vibrant!

Lipsticks and lip glosses are limitless, nudes, bright, dark, red.. they are all gorgeous! I think the most popular colors atm are high 90's slimshine, swelter slimshine, missy slimshine, angel lipstick, nars turkish delight lipgloss...

You can always go to our review section if you need help deciding on colors, or makeupalley.com is another great place to find reviews on products you are unsure of purchasing! Looking at the tutorials thread on specktra is a great way to learn new techniques and you can choose the looks you like best and try to copy them.

does it have to be MAC . I suggest you buy some cheap eyeshadow palettes from lines like Milani, NYX, LA Colours and just play with them a bit to see what you like and don't like. You can also get cheap lipsticks, glosses from those same lines.

I totally agree with na_pink. I highly recommend NYX products as they are super-affordable and great quality and pigmentation. You can get lipsticks for $1.00, single e/s for around $4.00 and both blush and triple e/s sets for a little over $5.00. Then you can experiment with different colors and not break the bank! Once you find colors you like you can always find higher end dupes. I have been loyal to MAC since '95 but now that I am pretty broke I have been purchasing NYX products and have been extremely pleased with them. As far as eye makeup goes, pretty much any color will compliment brown eyes like yours (I have the same color eyes), so just play around and see what you like.
If you cannot find NYX locally, or want to purchase it at a cheaper price, check out

Cherry Culture Makeup Cosmetics : Bloom, Eyeko, Juice Beauty, MOR, NYX, Playboy, Splash, Sugar, Tinte and more

or

NYX cosmetics - red cherry - la colors, jewelry, clothing - Nonpareil Boutique.

Both sites always have sales and specials on NYX. But, the color swatches on these sites are not true to the color of the actual product, so I would check out the swatches on this site and makeupalley before choosing colors.

Hope this helped out some!

If I were you, I would make appointments with different makeup artists. You don't have to purchase everything they put on, but you could just try a new e/s, eyeliner, or a blush. In the process, you get to see yourself with new looks and learn new techniques of applying makeup to enhance your features.

I agree with na_pink, milani has some really nice products. I have not tried some of the others ones mentioned. I know L'oreal has some good products too.

You don't have to spend a lot to look great and subtle changes can really make a big difference in your overall look.

If you like working with loose eyeshadows, I recommend looking to places like Fyrinnae. Or check out some of the people on Specktra who sell pigment samples. For a minimal cost ($1.75 per sample), you can get a huge variety of colours to experiment with to your heart's content. And, in the case of pigments, you can mix with gloss, nail polish, body lotion etc.

I agree with what the above posters have said. You don't have to spend a lot to get good quality makeup. (To be honest, I'd recommend putting more money into brushes/applicators than makeup. ...and you can find great quality makeup brushes in any art supply store!)

HTH!
