[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]I bought iris accents softsparkle pencil last night..
and I got it out to play with it when I got home..and the tip broke as I was trying to use it, so I sharpened it..tried to use it again and it broke again, and so i sharpened AGAIN and it BROKE AGAIN.
Has anyone had any problems with their softsparkles doing that to them?

I don't know what to do, my counter is one of those counters that won't take anything back if it's used.. so I don't know. blaaaaaah.

I kept drawing on my hand with the Iris Accents that was on display and it never broke for me..so I don't know..I'm thinking I got a bad pencil.

Hey I had the same exact problem at the counter while I was trying
Mint and Olive on. The tip just broke right off as I applied it.
It seemed as though it was crumbling. They won't take it back?
Wtf? That is lame considering that the product is defective. My counter
will take back anything if you are not satisfied. Or else I would not buy from there.
I wound up buying Mint and Olive and Nightsky because I loved them so much, wanted Goldenair but they were out sadly.
Anyway the only one I have had a chance to use is Nightsky, and there is no problems thus far.
I loved Mint and Olive so much I took the chance and just bought
it hoping it would not break. If it does back to the counter it goes!
Sorry yours sucks!

I haven't tried to take it back, but I'm gonna try tonight and see if they'll exchange it.
If you're interested..my counter still has goldenair.. I could pick it up for you while I'm there.

Isn't it a policy that all stores and counters have to take it back? If you really wanted, you could email customer service or something and they'd probably let you return it if it really matters to you.

All of that glitter (sparkle) weakens the integrity of the emollient liner formula. You guys may have rec'd pencils from batches that went a little high on the sparkle ingredient, thus really weakening the pencil. Yeah, def take it back. You should have no problem.

Thats so strange!! There must must must be something wrong with that one. All mine are just fine! Totally bring it back to them! Im with "EmbalmerBabe" in that the counter you purchased it at should be more than happy to take it back. I know my counter would. I would hope they would at least exchange it for you!!

to try and help prevent breakage... make sure that you use it super gently, and also ensure that it's not too cold when you use it... maybe try warming it in your hands a little? (not too much or it will go all gluggy and smoosh and break up).

when it's cold even normal eye and lip pencils have a tendency to break during use as the emollient has hardened.

i had this happen, i have the worst luck though with any mac eyeliners besides the fluidlines, they all seem to break or be broken.

I don't have many MAC eyeliners,just FL's a few LLL's and a few pencils.
Buried Treasure has allways been a nice creamy one, no breakage.
Electro-thankyou for the offer on the Goldenaire I will PM you.

I have Iris Accents and Mint and Olive and I haven't had problems with either. Maybe I am lucky.
