My hair is super thick and big anyway so I use it to my advantage..
Here is a quick rundown..
First I flatiron and run a smoothing serum allover (I use CHI silk infusion. I also part my hair and flatiron my bangs forward) Starting in the back, I take sections going vertically (if that makes sense) and back comb each section in little chunks. Oh, and I always start a little below the crown.. Kind of like ear level around my whole head. After I back comb each little chunk I spray it with hairspray (I use kenra volume spray) and leave it. I do half of my head at a time. So then you have back combed sections of hair all over. Then I use a wide tooth comb to lightly pick through the top and smooth it over (so kind of underneath it's still a rats nest and sprayed
nobody can see it though cause my hair's so thick) Then I use sleek look pomade in the ends so they're nice and smooth, a little peice-y.
And by the way, I only wash my hair twice a week (it's really dry) and it's easier to get it bigger when it's dirty.
