Ideas for grad makeup?

So I'm going to my boyfriends grad dinner and dance this year, and I'm having trouble thinking of what to do for makeup
My dress is a really pretty shimmery grey colour (reminds me a lot of the colour of silver ring eyeshadow, actually) and Im wearing dark turquoise heels and a clutch of the same colour.
As for me, Im fairly pale (nc25ish) and have greyish-blue eyes and brown hair.
Im thinking of something like a smokey eye using a silver eyeshadow, but I dont want it to be too dark or make my eyes look too small.
Im hoping somebody has some recommendations for what I could do that would look good with the dress..
thanks!

edit: I forgot to add that I also have ridiculously oily skin and that's on a usual day, my eyeshadow and face powder will be gone within 3 hours or so (Ive also never used primer before)
any recommendations on how to get my makeup to stick on the big night?

I agree with above, but you can also use the turquoise to lightly color your smoky eye too instead of just using it as a liner. Or, you can just line your lower lash line so the color really pops.

How about this...use Silver Ring and Knight on your lid, Knight Divine in the crease, just a tad of Mont Black in the outer V to deepen things a bit, and pop a tiny bit of Aquadisiac on to the innermost part of your lid (closest to your nose, I mean) to brighten things up. Since I'm obsessed with it right now, I think Crystal Avalanche would be a pretty highlight, and used on the inner corners to open up your eye...line with Tealo powerpoint pencil, and swipe on your favorite mascara...as far as making your makeup stick, I'm super oily too, and the only thing that works for my eyes is Urban Decay primer potion...I use MUFE HD primer for my face, and it works well...I've tried Smashbox, but their primers all wind up making me greasy.

Oh yeah! For the rest of your face, I'd go fairly neutral...something along the lines of Dame or Gentle for your cheeks, and depending on what you want for your lips (l/s or l/g), either Love Nectar (I will never stop recommending this...it's definitely my HG...) lustreglass, or Bare slimshine lipstick with Gingerroot cremestick liner with Baby Sparks dazzleglass over it (or just clear lipglass).
Obviously the lip colors depend on how they look on you personally, but I find them to be pretty good neutral-y colors. Let us know what you decide on!
