violet trance looks blue-ish purple kind of like a periwinkle purple (more purple than blue) color to me. mufe 92 is the truest purple color i've seen so they are a little different. however they are both matte. i love both colors soo it's up to u! i say both but if you only could get one, i say violet trance because it's more unique (to me at least).

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE violet trance. I have to go return it...the texture is sh*t, and the color isn't worth all the work I have to do to get it to show up even half as vibrantly as it is in the pot. Chalky...icky...ugh.
But I

MUFE 92...except for the fact that it stains, no matter what I do. LOL

^ I feel the same way. I think I've only used Violet Trance once or twice.

My MUFE stains last only about a day, luckily. Still kind of creepy looking, though. I don't know about yours, but mine make me look like the veins in my eyelids burst, haha.

LMAO mine makes it look like I have pink eye, because only the red tones stain my skin...fortunately some UDPP will cover it though, even if I use really sheer shadows over top...and I recently found out that my Neutrogena alcohol-free toner will lighten the stain to where it's nearly imperceptible...I just put some on a cotton swab and carefully go over the parts that need it most, especially if I've used it in the crease, or winged it out a bit. Works like a charm.

I didn't buy Violet Trance, but I realized it wasn't for me just from swatching it. It was so chalky, and I knew that was not going to be fun to work with! MUFE 92 can't be beat!

I love MUFE#92 and I also own Violet Trance. Im going to say now that I would rather have a 2nd #92 any day than that Violet Trance. Its a tease in a pot. The color looks like a dream but its really a nightmare.

whoa , might have to reconsider that than . i know Inglot has some bright colors I might have seen a violet trance dupe i can't remember , but really it's that hard to work with ? didn't feel like it when i swatched it .

I didn't find it easy to work with, and it seemed to have lousy color payoff. That's why I love #92 so much because it blends easily and has awesome payoff.

Totally. MAC is 14.50, MUFE is $19. Spend the extra $4.50. You get a larger size shadow (I want to say it's twice as much product) and the color is unlike anything else and the payoff is great.

Unfortunately, no...the closest I've come to being able to keep it from staining is by using UDPP AND NYX jumbo pencil. Even then, it still stained, although not quite as badly as usual. The only other thing I can suggest is making sure your lids are well hydrated before you put anything on them at all...put some eye moisturizer on about 20-30 minutes before you plan on doing your makeup...dry skin is more prone to getting stained, so if you've got enough moisture on your lids, and add a barrier or two (forgot to mention that even though I put the jumbo pencil over UDPP, it was still easy to work with, so fear not), it should either prevent the stain completely, or at least keep it light enough that it won't be glaringly obvious.
