I'm back from San Francisco!

Hi girls! I missed you all so much! I just got back a few hours ago. Wow, did I do a lot!

First we went down along the Oregon coast and stopped at several beaches. The beach is my fave natural environment, so that was really fun. I found a lot of cool little creatures and saw several birds I hadn't before (I love biology). My friend Holly and I both found some seaweed that looked like little palm trees and chased each other around, hitting each other on the butt with them. Heehee. We camped until we got to San Fran, and let me tell you, I'm a horrible camper! I can't sleep without a bed. I hate not being able to shower, shave and put myself together. I get all dirty. Eww! I basically can't be girly, which is irritating. I did catch two salamanders at the Redwoods forest though, and one night we all got really drunk! We played silly games and I laughed so hard. We went for a swim in a river, but I forgot my swimsuit! Oh no! I had to swim in my shorts.

It was such a relief to get to San Fran! The first thing I did was shower, shave and doll myself up. We ate out at all sorts of restaurants, and visited the Chinese and Italian districts. There were a lot of pretty things in the Chinese shops, but I worried they'd fall apart before I got them home. We spent a lot of time one day at the Museum of Modern Art, and I learned I hate art museums! Haha. I love to draw, but modern art and old photography do nothing for me. One stop was a big porn shop called Madam S.. *BLUSH* It was hard to know where to look in that place, since every direction held something I'd be embarrassed to be seen with. But I did buy a book there- "The Lazy Crossdresser", which has great advice for how to look girly. I read it through the rest of the trip. We went to an Italian restaurant that night (something Pinocchio) and I got jipped! First, I ordered a pina colada (my fave drink), only to find out they had no pineapple juice! Then, I ordered ciopino(?) and got salmon instead! They wouldn't give me a partial refund and insisted I wait until they could make the meal I ordered. By that time my friends were all done and I was the only one eating. I was pissed, determined not to tip them. But the receipt contained a mandatory 18% tip! And they had the nerve to leave a space for an additional tip! I wrote in a big fat "0" very boldly in that space.

The next day was so fun though! I headed out for the MAC Pro store on Union Street. We don't have a MAC store here in Washington, so I'd never been to one before. I was in heaven! The people there were so nice. I told them it was my first time in a MAC store, and the MUA sarcastically said "What kind of girl are you?" I replied "Not a very good one yet". Heehee. I was able to make an appointment for 6:00, so I had a few hours to wander around. That part of town is amazing! Sephora! Bebe! My nails were ruined from camping, so I bought some polish and remover and painted mine in a cafe. And I bought a pretty metallic pink hobo purse, because my sparkly black one is rather small and the strap likes to disconnect. I have two purses now! Yay! The makeover was pure bliss! It lasted an hour, and was by an MUA named Kimee. I requested a dramatic purple girly look, and she did a great job teaching me. I'll post pics and all the details in an FOTD. I bought false eyelashes and lipliner, and got a complementary mascara. Being an MUA looks so fun! I wonder if I should be one. I looked really great, and Holly took me out to Castro Street, the local gay district. Oy. I was really self-conscious, since I was so girly, but not gay. Yet most people there would assume I liked guys. Holly took my picture with another (far more extreme) crossdresser and we went to some gay bars. I'm really not a fan of the loud music and club atmosphere, but she had fun.

I was sad to leave the girliness of the city behind, but we left for Yosemite. I unwisely agreed to a 17 mile hike! Up a mountain to a place called Half Dome. It was WAY too long for me! I like walking, but not that far uphill. We hiked from 10 am to 10 pm, and my feet were destroyed by the end! They're sore now and my ankle's swollen.

But I did see lots of animals- a deer, a bear, quail, a white-headed woodpecker. And Holly caught a baby lizard. I held it a long time. It liked the heat of my arm. The today we went to Crater Lake, and I swam again. It was freezing! It hurt to breathe in and my legs were numb. I don't think I'm an outdoors girl!

So that's my trip! Any questions? I took 18 phtos, and my friends took a lot more. I'll post them soon. Can I post photos in the Chatter forum? Next I'll write up my MAC makeover FOTD!

*HUGS*

That sounds like a fantastic trip. Hubby and I went down the Oregon coast for our honeymoon. If I ever move to the US, I would move to Washington State or Oregon. They both remind me of home so much, just more beautiful
