Hi girls!! I'm so excited to be posting FOTD's again! I really missed it, as I love showing all of you my progress. I promise to post more regularily. Normally, I feel sorta nervous and self-conscious when I post one, but not today. Of all the looks I've tried on myself, I like how this one turned out best. I actually feel sorta sexy, and I'm even a little proud of the job I did!

I got inspiration from oh.im.icy's black smokey eye tutorial, but did it my own way. I used my standard foundation (Covergirl Trublend in classic ivory), then I applied the light blue shade in Maybelline's blue slate eyeshadow trio to my entire lid. I don't have any MAC bare canvas, but I figured I needed a liquid to make the upcoming black eyeshadow darker. So I coated the whole area under the crease with Maybelline liquid eyeliner in black! Then I applied Covergirl shimmering onyx to that area and a bit above it as well. I tried my best to blend it with the blue, and reapplied a bit of each before it looked right. Then I applied more shimmering onyx under my eyes and tried to blend that as well. Next was my usual Too Faced lava gloss super black eyeliner on the lower waterline and inner corners. I filled my brows with Covergirl brow and eye maker in soft brown, applied sweetheart rose blush, and tried contouring with the brown Mary Kay bronzer/shadow I used before. I used a very small amount of Covergirl concealer in buff beige on my inner eye area to lighten it a bit. For my lips I used Maybelline wetshine in lilac lick and Clinque glosswear in whisper. I REALLY tried hard to straighten my hair, but this was as good as it got. I plan to invest in a CHI iron turbo to help solve that problem once and for all. I was so happy with myself that I forgot to apply mascara and took photos!! I NEVER forget mascara! But I went back and applied Estee Lauder illusionist maximum curling mascara in black very heavily on all my lashes. Then I took more pics, but I really like one of the non-mascarad pics too.

This is without mascara. I really love my expression here.

This is with mascara, attempting the same expression.

Here's a smile, almost symmetrical for once!

And I finally figured out how to take close up shots. This shows my attempt at blending black.

I really hope you enjoyed these. I would love to hear criticism too, since I want to improve so much. I'm still hoping I might try to be a makeup artist if I ever get good enough. There's a MAC store opening VERY close to my apartment this month, and I'm going to try to go there a lot, get regular makeovers, and befriend and learn from the MUAs. Then after lots more practice maybe I could be a MAC girl myself.

IMO dark colors aren't easy to get right, they either get over or under blended. This is perfect. The close up shot is amazing! I wish I could get my camera to do that. I love it. Thanks so much for sharing.
