So, I got an exclusive, invitation only invite to the Fafi Event in Munich. I was curious as to what exactly happens at an event like this. The mailer said that there would be snacks and drinks along with Fafi herself. Also, is anyone else attending tomorrow too? If so I would like to meet up and say hi and so on. I did do a search but the answers were very vague as to what happens. I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

That's so cool you get to meet Fafi! Iirc she made an appearance in New York too, so hopefully someone who attended that event can answer as to what that was like. I'm assuming it's a pre-release party so basically you get to check out all the goods before everyone else does, hang out with the great MAC artists at the store and maybe get your makeup done while you enjoy some appetizers and drinks (alcoholic and virgin). It can get pretty packed but it's a great way to soak up all the excitment surrounding the collection.

Hope you have a great time!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. It was a really nice event but I ended up not staying the whole time. Munich is about and hour and a half away from where I live and it was my first time leaving my little Liam at home with his Grandma so he was all I could really think about. It was SUPER packed and when you entered you had to show your invitation and they put a black bracelet on you. There were guys wearing black pants and the Fafi shirts handing out mini pizza, mini burgers, fries in a shot glass, chicken on stick and other little odds to eat plus drinks (alcohol and virgin). They had three girls dressed as Fafinettes and you could have your picture taken with them. There were makeup artists (about 6 stations) doing makeovers and a D.J. playing loud, trendy music. It was so crowded that even getting on of the 4 displays was nightmare. Keep in mind that I'm American and I am not conditioned to being pushed and shuffled like most Europeans do. I hate to be touched by people I don't know so that was really hard for me. I didn't stay to see Fafi. The event was from 8:30-11 and we left at 10:15. When we left (we as me and the hubby) they handed us each a bag (the really cute paper bags with the Fafinettes on it) filled with a letter of thank you, a Ludwig Beck catalog, a Vanity Fair magazine and a free Fafi IPP in one of the three colors. All in all it was really nice and I look forward to going to another one. I just wish that they would put a MAC in Innsbruck. That would be so much better and I could go to them all the time. Again, Thank you for your response.

I'm glad you had a great time - with a free IPP to boot! *jealous* As for the pushing and shoving... I think it's a universal MAC event thing, lol. There was quite a bit of that at the two I've attended (in Toronto), and I think another member (iirc Can'tAffordMAC) mentioned quite it was pretty packed at her event. That's so cool you got the paper bags - I was really hoping I'd get one since my counter held a seminar for it, but ah well. Enjoy your Fafi goods!

edit - *gasp* I just realized, you went w/ your hubby so you got two bags - did you score TWO IPP's???

I had bought the blonde doll, Totally It lipglass, Cult Fave lipglass, Fascinating Eye Khol and Sassed Up IPP. But in our bags were Verve-vacious IPP's so yeah, three in total but two free ones.

I'm a happy gal but my hubby joked that it was his powder and he best not catch me using it. He also said that he most likely felt what I would feel like at a Star Trek Convention. He LOVES Star Trek. I thought it was cute though. He's a great hubby.
