I'm through with hair dye

okay as of today I'm through with hair dye. Permanent, Semi Permanant, Demi Permanente, or any of that other shit. I am truly so scared of ending up with a disease from prolonged use of hair dye. I am just going to color my hair back to it's natural color and let it grow out so that way I don't have to worry about my roots. Or I might have to do the nastiest thing on earth, is to let it grow out of this Dark Blonde color and have to see my roots growing back to my natural color, I am so freaking out right now, I mean I'm not guarenteed to get or not get a disease from hair color, but I'm scared and fed up with having to constantly touch up my roots.

i'm sure you will be much happier with it once you fufill this goal

natural hair is softer, healthier, shinier, and in general a lot more attractive usually

Thanks for your support, I'm not ever planning on growing my hair out long, the longest I want it is the picture in my avator, but my natural hair color in my short hair style is my goal, it will take about 3 months to rid of all the damage, but that's cause I have short hair.

haha...I wanted to shave my head once, I saw V For Vendetta and had total buzz-cut envy...She looked amazing. But, then I look at my face shape and hers...and how my boy would freak...and how long it would take to grow back,...and I couldnt let myself do it.

But it still sounds fun.

If you want to play with color still, I think henna is pretty safe, as long as you make sure there isn't anything added in it.

at least your hair is short, so it won't be as bad

but seriously, good for you, my roots are about 3 inches in now (it's not THAT bad though, since i only have subtle highlights), and honestly, i'm starting to like my natural color, it feels good to actually be able to see it. and natural haircolor is usually super shiny and pretty, too...

If you want to go the natural route, LUSH makes really nice hennas in a couple different colors. They are called Les Cacas and that is probably about as natural as it gets. I hear they are good and not harsh or full of chemicals!

I've had my natural color for about four years now. I love it. But, occasionally my sister will throw a nice semi-permanent red over it, which will wash out eventually. It doesn't change the color of my hair, just gives it an interesting color in daylight.

Otherwise, though, I leave it alone. She says I've got the healthiest hair she's ever seen.

Hah I said that once and look at me now :hump: I actually did last from the time I was about 15 until I was 20...
I started growing my black dye out in hmm probably March of this year and finally got rid of it and was able to bleach it in about August. At least our hair is short!

i remember those days when i said the same... it lasted about 2 months or so...
i think hair dyes are not so bad if you give them a rest and also treat your hair right with some products, and eating well
