I'm trying to achieve this lip shade --does not have to be MAC!

Hi guys, I'm trying to achieve this lip color, I am the same complexion as the girl in the pic on the LEFT (the African-American):

Any suggestions?? It does not have to be MAC, as a result...I'd prefer it not to be MAC just in case it doesn't work out. I don't feel like blowing money on MAC. Thx!!

If you would like to go a very inexpensive route, why don't you try NYC (not NYX) brand lipstick in "Rose Gold". Top it with clear lipgloss and you are good to go. I promise you will get that same result. I wore that color all summer long and I LOVED it!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, NYC brand can be found at Target, Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, Snyders, etc. I don't know if you are in the USA or not, but hopefully this helps you out.

Yes, I'm in the US. I figured that the shade came from a low-end brand thats why I mentioned that it didn't have to be MAC. Giiirrl, thanks so much for the recommendation. I'm buying that pronto.

Edit: I checked out the Rose Gold online and on the NYC site it looks kinda bronzey which isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I think I'm looking for a sheer slightly-pinkish tinged lipgloss...any other suggestions?

No, don't be fooled by the online pic. I have also seen it in print and it looks nothing like it does in real life. It is truly the perfect 'Barbie' pink for us brown girls. The tiny hint of yellow in it helps to cancel out the purple undertone in the lip and lets the pink shine through.

This is me wearing it last fall. I put it on straight, with no additional lipgloss. With the gloss though, the look is outstanding. Click the photo to enlarge (it's a thumbnail).
