inquiring about fluidlines

I have some questions about fluidlines before I waste a bunch more money on makeup. The last eyeliner I bought was liquidlast. I didn't like it too much because I had to scrub my eyes with soap since I didn't purchase a the special remover with it and my old eye remover did not work.
ANyway, my questions:

Are the fluidlines easy to remove? Can I use a basic (non-oil) remover and water to get it off my face. I do not like scrubbing my eyes and prefer to spend my money on makeup rather than on expensive remover. Is it a clean bold and SMOOTH line, like liquid liner, rather than a 'blurrier' line of pencil?

Thank you.

They last, they're relatively easy to remove, and they make good lines. You can check the FOTD forum to see examples of people using fluidliners.

I can remove it using a face soap and water. It's easy enough... sometimes if I put it close to the lashline it'll be tougher to come off and I'll use an oil-based remover.

It's varied on how you want it to look because it's a gel. You can get a thick, bold line like a liquid or a more smudgy look of a pencil/kohl if you smudge while it's not quite settled. The brushes also determine the application of the liner.

I find the Fluidlines easy enough to remove, definitely easier than the Liquidlasts, which require an oil-based remover (some have same baby/jojoba oil works fine for them too). I use Rimmel's eye makeup remover, tho, which says it's for waterproof makeup but isn't oil-based. What I usually do is hold the damp cotton pad against my closed eye with pressure along the lashline, rubbing just a bit without actually moving the cotton pad across my lid. Does that make sense? It's easier on my lashes too b/c there's no pulling. Usually gets off the liner no problem.

Btw, I use waterproof mascara too, and this trick usually gets everything off!

I find them really easy to remove. Any cleanser that's safe for your eyes will usually do the trick. The only time I have to work a little harder is if I use it on my waterline...then I just have to use a q-tip to get the rest off. Fluidlines are AWESOME. They look fabulous and have the best staying power of any liner I've used. I use the 266 for application

I find them very easy to remove, I use the Gentle Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover by L'Oreal and it's pretty cheap. No need to rub your eyes to hard.

Since I discovered MAC fluidlines years ago, I don't want to buy any other eye-liners!! The texture is very unique imo, not to liquid and not to dry. You can draw a perfect line without put on too much, but you have to have some good brushes like Emma Frost said before. Personaly, I recommend the 266 from MAC or a very very thin brush. I really like the versatility of the fluidlines, you can use them both as eye-liners or eye shadows base, and your makeup will last forever.

Thanks everyone!
I went to MAC and picked up the blacktrack fluidline and the 266 brush today. I like it so far...if one my eyes were the same size!
Just one more question: Do I have to clean the brush every time I use it and with what?

At first, I did not clean my brush every time. BIG MISTAKE, lol. The fluidline gets all dried up on my 266 and cakey. If you don't wash it, when you try your next application, it will not be even. I clean mine every day either right after I use it (so I don't forget) or I leave it on my sink and clean it before I go to bed. I use warm water and just regular hand soap on all my MAC brushes and it seems to work great! Good luck!

I clean my brushes about every other week. But I keep an old towel by my vanity that I wipe off excess product onto (changing the towel if it gets icky).

The MAC Brush cleaner is awesome for their brushes, since none of them shed when you're washing. You can also use baby shampoo. I think there's a few guides on here about brush cleaning, too.

Just FYI: You don"t have to spend a "bunch" of money on oil based mu remover (sorry> my commas periods and a few other keyes aren"t working right

): I use Maybelline"s Expert Eyes makeup remover and it works like a charm> and I paid a very minimal amount for it (we"re talking less than five dollars)> So< don"t let that scare you away from using Liquid Last Liners: "cause I think they"re really great! SO vibrant< and the fact that they refuse to budge in water is a plus in the summer months when you"re swimming and sweating!

I love fluidline! Its fantastic, i use the 266 brush as well. Alot of the people on here clean there brushes often, but i hardly ever clean my 266. I clean everything else once per week, or between dramatic color change. I have had the 266 for about 2 months and have only cleaned it once. I wipe any excess off the edge with a wet q-tip, but the harder the brush is, the straighter a line i get, i am a bit un coordinated. So, however often you clean your other brushes, do the same with your 266 if you like it soft, but if your like me, clean it only when it gets pokey. lol.

I've tried at least couple dozens of eyeliners (including pencil, powder, cake, gel, liquid) and this is my HG eyeliner....I have oily skin and eyeliners (even heavy duty smude free and liquid/waterproof) slide and smudge like crazy. Fluidlines are the only liners that go on super smooth (easy to create super thin or thick line easily with a sweep), and are completely smudge free - my friends and I got a little crazy once and jumped into the lake with our clothes on and stayed in the water for about an hour and all my makeup was a mess, but my liner was as sharp as ever.

They are VERY easy to remove - I even use non-oil based remover and it gets it off no problem
