Iris Print doesn't work for me. It's so dry/chalky/powdery. Usually, if it doesn't work alone, I use my Mixing Medium or EZR and it's awesome.. But EVEN with this, it doesn't work.

I should use crisco oil if I want the glitters to stick on my lids!

Why MAC, why? Even Trax, Pink Venus and Honey Lust are better than this..

So.... HOW do you use it? I need new ideas, except crisco oil.

I had the same problem, I took an old cream foundation that was a shade too light for me and placed that over my lids, followed by some pressed powder and it showed up perfectly.
Its such a gorgeous color

I use mine over Silverbleu or Beige-ing shadestick & it comes out looking just fine. Have you tried something like that yet?
I'd love to see it layered over the NARS cream shadow Lido too.

i totally had the same problem... and then i used it over light as air powerpoint and i packed it on rather than rubbing it in. i also used a 242 brush... once upon a time a MAC ma told me for to use this brush to pack colors on when they didn't show up.

if you dont have light as air powerpoint, i would suggest a shadestick (silverbleu) because it has that sticky consistency that paints lack. (and i usually hate that stickiness but for iris print, it just works)

Hhhm, it worked alright for me. Although I was expecting it to be darker/ more pigmented. It looks amazing (and dark) over Infamous paint, but that was DC so you may not have it. I'd try it over a shadestick, maybe that rich purple one, I can't think of the name. HTH!

Also maybe try it over Non Conformist fluidline mixed with the tiniest dab of chapstick/lip conditioner to keep it JUST sticky enough?

I have a hard time getting much on my brush too, blasted veluxe. I'm going to try scraping it so I can get loose powder bits to apply. And of course over a shadestick or paint/ccb.

I tried over:

- a Paint (Doesn't work)
- EZR (Doesn't work)
- Mixing Medium (Doesn't work)
- Khol (Doesn't work)

So now I'll try with a Shadestick, but which one?? I only have:

- Shimmermint
- Gracious Me
- Beige-ing
- Taupographic

Thanks in advance!

I used it yesterday over a combo of mauvism paint topped with kool ccb and it looked fantastic. It lasted all through my work shift too without creasing. I put mauvism on first, then a light layer of kool ccb, then blended iris print on, then went back and packed the colour on. The glitters stayed put too

same! i was just about to say, paint (i used matisserie), then a really thin layer of kool (i think it's d/c'ed, so in case you don't have it, any ccb will do in a THIN layer. basically just something a little stickier).

Iris Print wasn't showing up for me at first either. I tried Beige-ing shadestick underneath it and I sprayed my brush with Fix + before applying and that seemed to do the trick.

im guessing its a veluxe? if so, a sponge tip applicator works SOOOO much better than a brush. You get a lot more color to apply and it's better than scraping bits of it off to make it loose.

PBI, Iris Print is Velvet texture, not veluxe. i just ordered this too, curious to see what it looks like on my skin tone. i hope it shows up. i have a hard time getting Slip Pink to show on me as well, just have to pack it on. Perhaps the quality on the velvet shadows is just going down. *shrug*

you tried an eye kohl and it didnt work?? thats what i used and its superrr glittery. the only thing is that color is absorbed into the kohl so all you see is lots of glitter. i used violet underground

hmm...im surprised the kohl isnt working....id think that or the shadesticks would be best to get the color to stick. I havent tried to use mine today..i was going to try later....im getting nervous! But when I was there im like..oh no this is like slip pink..and I cant get the glitter on that to show at all. So she said to pat it on with a packed brush - not a fluffy one...that way the color concentrates..and pat it on - and she did recommend an eye kohl too. that sux

good luck...keep us posted. I wouldnt use a shadestick too light like beiging...it might be lightening the color???
