Is Dessert Beauty going under?

When I was in the city the other day I noticed Holt Renfrew is discounting all of their Dessert Beauty items and it looks like Sephora is not carrying it as well. When it first came out I just had to try it. I do like the perfumes, body shimmer powder (in taste and creamy) and lip glosses, The other products not so much. I am just wondering if anyone knows if the line is going under?

i hope so. its way too freaking gimmicky for the prices. i think urban decay's version is way better. but, call me biased; i fucking hate jessica simpson.

I got to agree with you. It was waaaaay over priced and the scent did not last long. I have never tried UD, but have heard great things about them. The Dessert treats was equally bad and we never did get her Walmart line. If it is going under not a huge loss at all

The items were WAAAAAY over priced, so I am not surprised to see it gone. The lip glosses were like flavored water. Mine would stay on for about 2 minutes, and there was no plumping to speak of. Oh well. Jessica will just have to find something else to do with her self!

It seems that anything with a "flavour" or "taste" to it seems to go sour quicker than a regular cosmetic, so maybe it is just that they are at the end of their relatively short shelf-life.

I swear I remember something about a legal issue with her and the cosmetic co, as well. Seperate from the legal issue she is having with her clothing co. Busy gal.

I was in Ulta a few weeks ago and the lady there said that the line IS being discontinued. Apparently, Jessica didn't make enough money or something. Gee, charge $21 for a freakin' lip gloss, I wonder why she didn't make any money - cuz other brands like MAC, UD, etc are sooooo much better and cheaper!! However, I did manage to get the perfumes for $12 each and they retailed for $45 when they came out - so can't complain there

yes I heard as well that it was being discontinued.. I can't say I hate her, I just think that this whole "cosmetics" line thing was sort of unneccessary.. I bought the only two lip glosses I owned on eBay as it was, and both of them stung like hell on my lips.. I can't complain about the clothing line, I bought a pair of jeans that fit me awesome and were a size smaller than I normally wear in other lines.. ;-) although they are also overpriced, I got mine on sale! all I have to say is I feel bad for Nick

yeah, shes going under. her dessert and dessert treats are being d/c. im glad because like most said, I CANT STAND HER! i got her $32 scrub as a present and decided to try it for the hell of it. not to be biased, but while it did smell good, it left a greasy film on me. by the time i returned it to sephora (without a receipt, or gift receipt) i got $10 credit b/c it was 75% off. there was alot of bad reviews for her crap, and even though its been on sale on sephora.com for a while, its still not selling.

oh fyi, shes being sued by the people that shes supposed to endorse. yes, the line is called PRINCY which shes supposed to be the face of, but since she is quoted saying that she prefers her $200+ true religion jeans over her $30+ princy jeans, shes being sued for a couple million.

i know this sounds evil, but im glad shes going down. i was sick of seeing her face everywhere.

I can't say I'm disappointed that Dessert is going under, but not just because I don't like Jessica...I'm not really big on edible bath and body products for some reason. I think if I wanted something to put on my body that I would then lick, I would reach for a two dollar can of whipped cream. Maybe it's just me.

it is but I think she's going off on another tangent with another brand that's being sold at walmart that is very similar.

I thought I'd seen it at Walmart recently & figured it was finally being redirected into a better market for it. Whenever Maybelline or someone has flavored roll-on lipgloss, or Bonne Bell, it is popular with kids. This crap was even at Walgreens & I couldn't believe the prices! I could afford it....I just wouldn't! I thought it'd be fun to get some for my 10-yr-old niece, but not at what they want for it.

I had some of the UD cocoa powder, and LOVED the little leopard puff, but my husband even being a chocoloholic isn't into flavored stuff on the body. I've had friends who have used whipped cream & whatnot before, but to me it just sounds like a horribly sticky mess and ick. Jessica's stuff even had sprinkles???? I mean, is she supposed to have actually used this crap to recommend it for intimacy??? ewww

I don't see the reason for Jessica Simpson's fame & fortune, either. She's horribly annoying & without talent. Just must owe a lot to connections or a good agent.

Well the Dessert line had like 2 different versions,.. 1 you could find at Walgreens,. it was cheap looking and way overpriced,.. freakin ridiculous and the quality was super poor. The higher end line was at Sephora as well as the lower end,.. the Tasti perfumes Juicy and Delicious were pretty decent,.. and the flavored body powders in Delicious and Dreamy were good,. but all the rest,.. I think they should give it away with other purchases.

That's what I'd wondered.

prices too high, quality too low. jessica simpson should just quit trying to manufacture fashion and beauty stuff, especially considering she doesn't wear it herself. she's getting sued by "her" clothing line, for not wearing and promoting it, and her dessert stuff and dessert treats were way overpriced, and hardly functional. i got her dessert lipgloss set of 6 minis for like, $5 from ulta on sale. i'm assuming the company has stopped production. her stuff may taste and smell good, but the lipgloss lasted for like.5 seconds on your lips.

and yes, i too am biased, because i fucking hate her.

I am so in the minority here but I like the line. Yes I think it's overpriced but I still love the products. However, my guess is the line will slowly fade away and maybe just keep the d/s products.
