today i dropped my new, full, jar of kitchmas pigment all over my floor.

i was devastated because i love kitchmas but then i realized my parents would kill me if they saw purple/silver shimmer all over our WHITE carpet. shall i add, NEW, white carpet

it took me an hour but i got it all out. and in that hour i leaned a lot about getting it out of the carpet. i hope it doesnt happen to you but if it does, maybe you can learn from me the best ways to get it out!

okay so i tried to salvage my pigment but then i realized it probably wasn't the most sanitary thing i could do... especially because i put pigment on my eyes and lips... i'm OCD about this stuff so yeah. but before i realized this, i tried scooping it off the carpet with my fingers. BAD IDEA! it actually caused me to rub the loose pigment into the carpet. i decided to sacrifice 18.50... the cost of the carpet is probably way more. anyways i took a vaccum and sucked up the pigment. it got all of it out of the carpet and now i just had to deal with the pigment i had rubbed into the carpet turning my carpet lavender.

shampoos, carpet cleaners, etc helped a little bit. i got most of it out but then i decided to try... PRO EYEMAKEUP REMOVER! i poured some in the carpet, rubbed it in, when it started to foam, i put in clean water, and used a towel to pat dry. worked like a charm.

also, wash your hands so there is no pigment on them! while cleaning i noticed that my finermarks were leaving trails of purple sparkle everywhere making it an even bigger disaster.

okay that is all. but let me just finish off by saying... I MISS KITCHMAS ALREADY!

aww thats horrible....
on new years eve i dropped half of my cooper pigment all over my wood floor so i started to cry...i grabbed my spoon i use to curl my eyelashes and started to scoop it back into the jar... i didn't rescue all of it but thats what i love about the pigments... it still looks brand new...and i used nail polish to clean my floor...

Hell yeah that happened to me before but that's nothing compared to your tragedy!
I got a Gold (METAL!!!) sample and put it (without the lid!) in front of my palette! So in the next second I see this light dust ALL OVER my drawers and makeup!
I thought "Hey it's no big deal, take a wipe and clean it up!" But nooooo, the metal pigments are the most amazing but the most stubborn pigments I've ever seen! I had to take rubbing alcohol and a lot of patience to clean all of my stuff and it still is on my palette! I hate/love metal pigments!

I am very very clutzy and super jittery sometimes,. I got a ton of the little clear screwcap jars and sampled my pigments out to myself,.. takes up less space in my makeup drawer and I keep my main jar put away nice and safe,.. Then when my sample container is empty I just refill it,.. It allows me to see my selection better (Clear jars) and keeps me from losing and entire pigment,.. I would only be losing about a 1/2 tsp full tops if I dropped one of those.

Hmm great idea now I have to find a large and cheap amount of sample containers online and hope that they ship to Germany!

Sorry that happened to you. This is exactly why I put a small amount of my pigments in contact lense cases.

I dropped my Stereo Rose the day after I got it. I salvaged 75% of it and put it into a powder sifter jar to use as blush. There's still a big pink stain on my floor though but I plan to replace that floor this summer anyway.

The last time I bought pigment, this is exactly what the MAC MA told me to do, and she gave me empty MAC sample jars- one for each jar of pigment that I own.

Aaaw, I'm so sorry! It makes you feel awful doesnt it? I dropped a brand new Steamy (a color I love) and I was soooo sad. And as I was cleaning it up, I imagined myself scooping up bits of $$ and throwing them away. It hurts. Lol!!

omg I had just read this thread and the UPS guy had come with a few MAC goodies for me, so I started to play around with my new Kelly Green pigment. I had transferred it to a smaller MAC screw top container (almost to the brim too), and what do you know?! I had knocked all of it over the bathroom sink, floor, my shirt, you name it...it was GREEN!!

I cleaned all of it up, except some had stained the grout by the sink...thank goodness for the Clorox CleanUp spray I had just bought, it took it all out!

you sound like me! i keep all my full sizers on the side and tightly closed and only keep about a quarter tsp in a small set of containers that i got from the craft store that's meant for beading.

It's happened to me too, don't feel too bad. I knocked over a new full container of Green Brown piggie on the bathroom floor. I still see little green shimmers in my tile sometimes. I dropped both Stereo Rose and Metal Rock. Fortunately neither of those got on the floor, and all the extra little peices are in plastic baggies under the sink now.
Since then I got a bunch of the little screwtop jars and just scoop out small amounts to use. You can find them on ebay.

AW! That's so sucky!

I'm scared to knock mine over too, but I'm more scared that unscrupulous people (none of you wonderful gals on here!) would scoop it up and sell it away. . .Or swap it. . .I've gotten pigments with hairS in it. . .Makes ya wonder. . .:T

This is why I actually hold my breath when using loose dust products or applying/holding things like that! Guess spending half of my life as a flute player was useful for something after all!
