my sister had it done when we lived in japan and hers lasted a year and a half, it took like 7 hours but her hair was like down to her butt. it kinda looks a little odd when your roots starts to grow out and its wavy.

I got Magic Straight, which is basically the same thing. Korean's call it Magic Straight and i got it at a Korean salon. It took about 3 hrs, my poor bf came with me and he died of boredom and torture. LOL and i paid about 150 CDN, and i have long hair too. but not a lot, which cut down my price. if you have lotsa hair, and it's long...then the price is gunna go wayyy up.

I have really thin hair, and also not a lot of hair. but i got it cuz i hate frizz and using my iron daily was killing my hair. and magic straight just makes it look like you ironed it everyday without you doing anything at all. It made my hair feel soooo soft as well. less tangles too!! but the down side was that it plastered my hair onto my scalp, so i had no volume.

i do have straight hair normally anyways, so the growing out part was not bad at all. it lasted about 2 years for me. even when my hair grew out half way, the ends of my hair were still part of the chemically straightened part, so the ends weight down my hair, so it was still straight and sleek cuz it blended in with my roots. however, if you have curly hair, then your curly roots would not blend in with your straight ends. which means it won't last as long for you as it did for me.

also when you get it, you cannot wash it, sleep on your hair weird, tie it up/hair clips, put it behind your ears, or anything that may "bend" or "crease" your hair b/c the chemicals are still setting your hair straight for i think 2 days after you leave the salon. so none of that for 2 days after getting it done. I was so careful when i slept that i pulled my hair above my head so that i was not really sleeping on it. and i hardly turned while sleeping haha

i wouldn't get it again, just because i love volume. but it was a really good experience. if you have a lot of hair and can cut down the volume A LOT and still have volume even after straightening, then def. do it if it's not too $$ for you. you're hair is gunna feel sooooo soft and HEALTHY after you get it done. your fingers just glide right through your hair cuz it feels that silky and healthy!

other than that, i have nothing else bad to say about it. so i give it a

. volume is just my personal preference

HTH!

I got it done one summer a couple of years ago at a korean salon, for about $200, and it took about 5 hours. Not too bad. It lasted for about a year, and for the 2-3 days following it you have to do your best not to bend it at all. Also, no showers. I liked how it came out, but if you have thin hair, I've seen girls whose hair looked like it was plastered to their heads, it was so straight. Not the best look. But my hair was reaaaalllyyy low-maintenance afterwards. Now I want to try a curly perm, haha..

I did the Yuko system a few years back and regretted it. I have med-fine hair. Same as other posters, but worse:

- left my hair flat with no volume
- i would still use hair dryer to dry it which damaged it more
- it was so straight it began to weigh down my hair and caused it to split from the top
- left it brittle and weak

I wouldnt recommend it unless you have really thick and unruly frizzy hair. actually i wouldnt waste the money at all.

I really wanted to have this done a few years ago as it's a pain to straighten my hair myself. I have very frizzy hair. When I mentioned this to my hair dresser, though, she completely discouraged me from getting this done as she said it's really bad for your hair. So, I don't know from experience as some of the others do, but this is what I was told from my former, very honest stylist.

Had awesome and terrible experiences. I had it done about 4 times. First time, I got it in China for about $30usd for their best shit and the hair stayed straight forever. It grew out after a couple years and I did it again for $100 at a salon in the US. Didn't last as long and it really damaged my hair. Did it again and this time it didn't even last more than a week so the lady offered to do it over. Didn't work again. Totally fried my hair for nothing! My friend did it and her hair became back to normal after the first time she washed it. You gotta really do your research to find a good salon because you don't want to end up wasting your time, money and hair.

I've had my hair straightened a couple of times and they lasted for almost a year. My sister gets hers done twice a year for many years now and nobody knows she was born with wavy hair!

If you really want to have long lasting straightened hair, I say, go to a good salon which is famous for this kind of service.
