Just got a voicemail from my mom telling me that my pediatrician committed suicide. She jumped off the roof of a hospital building. I would've never expected this from her because she was always so happy and friendly everytime I went to see her. She was sooo sweet. I remember when I went to her to get shots, she would be so nice and give me a lollipop after. I never cried either!! I was sad when I had to get a real physician when I reached age 18. This is just so sad. I wonder why she did it... Sigh.

Thats so sad....I lot of people that seem really happy and like they don't have a probem in the world are the main ones with so much going on in their life that they hide it. Such a shame and so incredibly sad.

My nephew committed suicide and no one would have EVER imagined he would bevause he had a great job, wife and family. However that is what we all thought looking from the outside in.

Yea one of my brother's roommates was a jolly ol guy. He was always laughing and making jokes. THen one day, my bro comes back and his roommate died from inhaling the carbon monoxide from his car in the garage. He turned on the car, closed the garage door and just laid there and inhaled the carbon monoxide.

We try to hide it because we know you have other things to worry about. Most of us put on a smile so you don't have to worry.

It was hard to press "reply"

thanks for the responses guys. i talked to my mom some more and she told me that it was in the newspaper. moments before my pediatrician passed, she was at a psychologist because she was under a lot of stress and was going thru some personal problems.

i remember when i was little, she told me she had a little daughter about my age. however, her daughter was adopted and my pediatrician was having a lot of issues with the girls' birth parents. apparently the girl was born with some medical issues and my pediatrician spent a lot of money and time getting her surgeries and whatnot. she was finally healed of whatever disorders she had. at that time, the biological parents of the girl wanted their daughter back. my pediatrician didn't return the girl to them because afterall, she did adopt her from them and took her off their hands when they didn't want her. so sad what her whole family went through.

My condolences to anyone who has had to deal with this. That is terrible and I don't even know how to begin to understand the pain this would inflict. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I read your words and I pray you get the help you need...I hate that you said "We" that concerns me deeply.....remember your life means a lot to a lot of people...they may not show it but you are loved I am sure.

Not expressing what you are truly feeling has to be extremely painful. It's not helping you or those that can help you. Please don't suffer in silence. Let someone know that can help you. Thoughts and prayers for you.

That would really shake me up, I get that doctors are people too... but when it comes to physical and mental health you always want to think they have it together. I'm sorry.

Val-x, I totally get that there are some days and times you have to just plaster a smile on your face... but hopefully it's the exception and not the rule.
