Keeping my pigments on!

Ok, I have a new favorite everyday look- graphic brown f/l, coco on the lid, and vanilla from crease to browbone. I've been using a CCB in Pearl as a base, but it seems like my pigments just kinda melt off and look messy after a while. What do you use under your pigments to keep them on? I have shadesticks...but I've always been hesitant to try paints because they seem so messy..

i use pigments on a daily basis and a lot of memebers here will swear like i do by Urban Decay Primer Potion

Its relatively cheap and is used under the eyeshadow. you can apply it under the eye and up to the brow bone and your eyeshadows and pigments will last all day until you reove them

Shadesticks might be your best bet. The CCBs can get very emollient when your body heat warms them up, so they can crease/melt, etc.

The paints aren't messy once you get used to them, but they really dry down on the lids, so they don't hold pigments well for some folks.

The shadestick is a good happy medium, IMO.

You could also try Select Cover Up concealer, as you are using neutral colours. Sometimes if you use concealer as your base under vivid colours it diminishes the brightness. You'd be fine using Vanilla or Coco though.

IMO, I would skip the Prep + Prime Eye. It tends to crease a bit and if you are having a problem with creasing/melting now, it might be a waste of your money. Hope that helps.

UDPP is great. Although, I really like the paints as well. They are not messy and very easy to use. I am an NW25 and prefer Bare Canvas.

Or you could also try using MAC paint as a base and CCB on top of it (very lightly) to give it a tacky base (MACGoddess invented that and it looks great on her)

I would have to agree with the Urban Decay Primer Potion - nothing comes close, IMO.

i use Urban Decay's primer potion or benefit's F Y Eye as a base. and if i use pigments i spray some fix + on the brush so the pigments adhere better to the brush and when i apply to the eyelids. i also sometimes spay the fix + again to my face afterwards to have it "set" the pigments.

What I do is use a paint as a base and then use the water based mixing medium for the pigments. They hold (and look more vibrant) when I use the mixing medium. HTH

I don't think paints are messy at all! You just have to make sure when you get a new tube, to unroll the bottom, otherwise the paint will keep oozing out of the tube after you squeeze it.

def do not use a ccb as a base!

I use beige-ing s/s or bare canvas paint as e/s base and both keep my e/s perfect till i take it off

I always use the water based mixing medium with my pigments. I swear one drop per eye makes those pigments last all day!

Another vote for Urban Decay Primer Potion! That stuff lasts forever! For example, I used it with my Azrael Blue pigment on the lid and vanilla on the brow bone yesterday morning at 7. Then I went to school, work, then went out clubbing and came in this morning at 5 and it was not smudged at all and just as vibrant as when I put it on.

I always use paints and shadesticks.

I was hesitant at using paints at first because I thought it would be messy, but it turned out really well and not messy at all.
Shadesticks really help pigments stick and the colors more vibrant.

UDPP would be great, too. I've never used it, but I've never heard anything bad about it.

I use Paint and CCB over the top (but a thin layer only)... This will hold pretty much everything on all day.

UDPP I like but only when I want to put a Shadestick on over it (shadesticks alone crease on me as I am pretty oily and want this crap to stay on for about 10 hrs)... Also P+P eye is honestly meant for and works best on normal to dry eyelid skin, it is made so that the tackyness of it will grab onto the shadow and help it to last. Dry skinned ladies LOVE it!

i find that the CCbBs make my colour migrate and crease. i have been using fluidliners and shadesticks to keep my eyeshadows at bay.

lately i have used Guerlain 144 cream to powder eyeshadow...i LOVE this stuff!

I have normal to dry skin and my eye colors do a pretty good job of staying put on their own. i was going to get bare canvas paint just for a bit extra sticking power, will this work for me or should i get the P + P ?
