Kiss Me, I'm wearing green

So I went out to celebrate St. Patty's Day yesterday (as I will be swamped with midterms and work this coming week). It was GREAT. If you are interested in my full outfit for the night, it's in my blog, but since I didn't have makeup in that shot, I decided not to add it here. Also, everything was much brighter IRL.
I also just realized that the eyeshadow looks a lot like Christina Aguilera's Viva Glam look.

I find with greens the biggest problem is getting the correct base and a nice matte to use with it. Once you've got a good base and a nice matte color to blend with it things kind of click with them. I like using pencil eyeliners for the base (as they tend not to crease as much as creamy things), but the best green base that I've ever used color-wise is UD Grass. There used to be a really beautiful dark green matte color by MAC, but it's been discontinued. Film Noir I believe.

On my nails (the quick and dirty break down) is Sinful Colors HD Nails and a Kelly Green glitter that I bought from an art store on top. There's are other things, but they didn't really register in the picture.
If you're interested in those things though, there's Emerald Green near the bottom of my nails, Peridot Glitter and Sinful Call You Later near the top of my nails and a black french tip.
