kITSCHMAS ? Love it or hate it?

Does anyone have a hard time appplying this pigment? Yesterday it was just frustrating applying it. If I used wet it caked. If I used it dry it flaked everywhere. So far I've used Cornflower, Golden olive, Vanilla, Blue Brown, Apricot Pink and I do not have this problem with them. What's another piggie that does not cause such a headache. Thanks!!!

I admit the re-release version has that flakey like consistancy like cornflower and copper sparkle that gives that fall out at first but blends down nicely. Copper Sparkle being the worst for this. Try pushing it into the eyelid. Test this on the back of your hand first to see what works best.

If you used it wet and it caked then you had too much pigment to water/mixing medium, this particular pigment doesn't take much. Yeah,.. this is definitely a harder pigment to work with though,.. like Rose pigment it is kinda flaky,... To apply it to the cheeks I use the 109 to kinda buff it in small circles,.. for the eyes,.. it will probably flake if you apply it dry to your lids,.. but since it is a flaky texture you can use a fluffy powder brush and just dust the excess away. Other pigments that have this similar texture that I know of are Golden Lemon, Rose, Copper Sparkle, and the new Lilly White is kinda like that too. There may be more,.. they are great pigments, they just take a little more getting used to.

For me it just doesn't show as much, even with a primer and/or packed on. I've regulated its use to be on top of more vibrant shadows or liners (e.g. Violet Underground)... I think it'll be better w/ a shadestick under it w/ a light hand. I haven't tried using it wet yet.

i HATED Kitchsmas until about.. .oh last week! haha and i've had it FOREVER! It was one of my first pigments. I used to think it was too flaky and didn't have a lot of color but it actually goes on quite nice. I like to use it as a highlight if im working with shimmery purples or mauves.

Try cream color bases with it also,.. I have had some really good results with that combo. Since the cream color bases are more creamy they seem to hold the Kitschmas on there better.

I love Kitchmas... it is a little "flaky", but I find applying with a spongetip applicator helps. I use Kitchmas as my highlight whenever I do a Purple or sunset colored eye.

i don't particularly care for the colors of kitschmas and copper sparkle (they look wierd on my skin tone), but the few times i've used them, i've never really had a problem with the consistency. some tips: use BOTH urban decay primer potion, and some other medium of your choice as a base (paint/shadestick/cream color base). apply the pigment with a tiny little brush, i really like the 228. its super small, so you can get detailed application, and it doesn't flake or shed pigment all over. also, do your eyes, close them, and apply a single spray of fix+ to set the pigments, THEN do your foundation and concealer and everything, because you can cover up any pigment fall out, if there is any. aslo, spongetip aplicators (3.99 for like, 50 at sall's and ulta) can also work pretty well for pigments..

I have a love/hate thing with Kitschmas. I'll go for months without touching it & glare at it sitting on it's rack with the others. Then one day, I'll put a dab on the palette, wet the brush, and fall in love with it again. It won't be long til I'm p-d and hate it. Sometimes it just seems so blah, a little "off".
