OK I really want Guerlain Kohl Liner ..but atm I can't afford it. Plus It's hard for me to spend 32 bucks on one single item.. my head tells me that's like two mac shadows or lipsticks ..or or a bunch of milani junk lol.

So I have been on the hunt to find something similar.

so far I have heard of Sally Hansen liner that has decent reviews ..but I cann't find it anywheres. Think it is discontinued ? sooo...

Then I checked Ebay for various kohl liners ..and only came across Arabic Kohl liner ..and well I read somwhers that it's probablly not a good idea to use that stuff. so...(something about high led content)

Then I found Clairins Kohl liner and it retails for 18.50 ..but my clairins counter doesn't carry it. And well I wasn't sold on it.

After looking at the Clarins one ... I went to CVs and found the most likely competitor ...

Maybelline Shadow Stylist 6.29

So I dropped my 6 bucks and change ..took this baby home ..and went and experimented .... at first ... I poked my eye

and then after the tears went bye bye
weeping.gif
... i let my poor eyeball rest for a bit ..... and then I got brave ... lifted my lid and began too tightline with this little bane of my eyes..... Well The result wasss... good I guess.. umh It tightlined really well ..gave a dark kohl look ... but it was a bit on the charcoly side instead of a deeep black ..but still nice.

Now on my first try i got lots of powder in my eye ..and that was not good ..but on the other eye I was more careful.

I like this .... I still want to get the Guerlain eventually ..but for now ... This was my best option ..

Now for the advice part .. Umh do you all think this is safe to use to tightline ? I mean I use other shadows as liner ..just haven't tried regular shadow too tightline ... has anyone done that ? If so did you do it often ? Did you get horrible eye boogers or infections ?
hmm.gif
I washed my eyes really good ...used baby shampoo and washed and massaged my lids really well ..because I had a bad case of Blepharitis a few weeks ago ... Blepharitis is bad jooo joo ..or basically a pimple/stye in your eyelids ...and that resulted from me going to sleep with fluidline and rubbing my eys in the middle of nigth ..So please if you are sleepy ....
poke.gif
ZOMG wake Up and wash your eyeballs with baby shampoo cuz BLEPHARITIS is not fun :eek2:lol..

Ok so yeah what do yall think ..should I continure to use this on my inner eyelid areas ? I'm prolly gonna get a eyelid infection/stye/pimple again
th_confused_new.gif

But it looks just like the clairins eye kohl thinger ... I need opinons ! ? lol yes no ..maybe so ?

Honey if you've had an eye infection recently I'd give yourself a couple more weeks before messing about with ANYTHING (regardless of how cheap or expensive the product) inside your eye, it's simply not worth risking until your eyes are 100% healthy and comfy again.....

I'm also not 100% sure frequently washing your eyes with a solution of baby shampoo is the best thing in the world, either. Did your phsyician/doctor advise this? If not, maybe go to a pharmacist and ask for some advice and what's best to use for cleaning your eye, they can probably give you eye drops which are designed specifically FOR that purpose, think this is a helluva lot of a better idea.... I should imagine (but I don't know, so again please get advice) that even washing your eye in saline would be better than what you're doing now...

I've got a friend who uses the Guerlain liners and swears by 'em, as does her husband (rockstar type who has long blonde hair and wears the vibrant teal one, it looks ace), I'll ask her for any more feedback she may have and PM ya on what its like.

Same friend used Indian kohl for many, many years and never had any problem, but stopped due to concerns over possible lead content. I think she just prefers the guerlain product, too. As I say I'll speak to her and let her know what she says, hon!

Take care and please be very gentle with your eyes!

One thing that occured me: the sponge tip. Except for Guerlain Kohl Powder, all these other powder liners have a sponge tip on their applicators — I have two, one from Victoria´s Secret and one from a local brand, and they both have it. Imagine the pain, tightlining with a semi-thick sponge tip! No way, Jose...Not to mention that sponges may accumulate bacteria, which can cause infections. I wear my powder liners on the borders of my eyes, never on the waterlines, and I´ve never had a problem. And yes, Guerlain is expensive, but I´m planning on getting that Kohl Powder anyway. Guerlain is a great brand, the concern for skincare in their makeup ingredients is remarkable.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes my physicisan reccommended me to wash out my eyelids and massage them with baby shampoo and warm water. This was for when I had an eyelid infection that was getting worse day by day and soon as I got home and began to wash my eyelids and do warm compresses on it .. The lid literally repaired it self almost instantly about 2 days after seeing the doc. I don't do it everyday but I still do sometimes when I Have been wearing lots of eye makeup for long hours. ANd I did after using this shadow as a liner.

I did notice that the shadow felt really really heavy so that sparked my concern...and I guess I was looking for some reassurance and talking into or out of the continued use of the prodcut lol... that sound silly lol ? ...hehe well the Guerlain definetly has some awesome reviews ..and I do think that I need to just say pewp and buy it.

I really do appreciate the concern and advice ..Thanks ladies =)

Ah, cool, I was just worried, I was just concerned shampoo (even mild baby shampoo) might be doing more damage, obviously your doc knows what he's talking about better than I so I'm just glad everything's OK!

I'll find out what my friend says about those kohl powders and let you know.

I notice on another Specktra thread that Mac seem to be bringing out a collection of kohl powders - look for the "Alexander McQueen" collection thread - they sound pretty damned exciting! :)

Yes I was going to say about the MAC ones, but if you can't wait that long, seriously go with guerlian. You get what you pay for and I've heard nothing but good things about their one. Sure its expensive, but if you're going to use it all the time then its worth the extra $$$$.
