Lack of privacy....AT HOME.

I basically flew off the handle on accident about it, but it worked. I came home again and my mail was opened. I'd had a bad night at work and came home and all my mail was opened. Note: this isn't the best way to get what I want, and it's probably the WORST thing to do, but I turned on the lights and I basically just yelled "STOP OPENING MY DAMN MAIL." and shut the door.

And my mail hasn't been opened in the last 2 days, it gets placed on my dresser, unopened and untouched. So maybe I won't be needing that PO box after all. But if this is just a "chill out" tactic and they start to do it again, my grandma lives a block away (by herself) and I stay over there a lot, she says I can forward my mail to her or she'll buy me a PO box because it's not right for them to invade my privacy, she's on my side.

But i don't recommend turning every house light and yelling STOP OPENING MY DAMN MAIL at your parents to get your way lol just cuz it worked this time I doubt it'll work ever again.

thanks everybody, i knew you'd have my side in the matter.

Giiiirl! You good for that one. I'd have to sleep with one eye open for a couple of months after that stunt.

congrats on the outcome.... I hope it stays that way.... If not... sit them down like adults you ALL are and talk to them.... Like you said you're not a bad kid or anything...so they should ease up on the opening.... I would NOT move your mail to your BF house... bad idea... (breakups, fights, his parents, his friends... the list is long) grandma... is another story.... good luck.

I had a whole other response to this, but I deleted it when I saw your update re: your grandmother....definitely take her up on the offer and either have your mail forwarded there or do the PO Box thing...good luck!

Oh gosh. That happened to me all.the.time when I lived at home. Talking to them got them more pissed off and opened my mail just to piss ME off so I forwarded all my mail to my BFF's house until I moved out

ITA with Miss Marley, I think Grandmas the way to go, plus if she's getting a bit on the older side (no offense intended) she might like the help that you can provide
