I bought one from the Raquel Welch collection and I am not sure how to use it. Can someone help me on this? I am a MAC newbie. Thanks!

Do you mean beauty powder? Those were part of the Raquel Welch collection. What is the name of the product you purchased?

I too am unsure how to use an MSF. I bought Shimpagne and I just put it all over my face with a regular blush brush. Is this right ? lol

There were no MSF in Raquel's collection. Those were beauty powders. And I use them to highlight my cheeks or i just put a dab of blush on top of it.

Ouch. Yes there are lots of threads involving this topic but I think this response was a little harsh.

LOL....yeah. It may be a little harsh. I think it's just the mod's personality. She tends to respond like that. But the other thing is that I think there is a certain level of frustration with posters who don't perform a search for topics like this, which are considered common questions.

I honestly don't understand why people are thinking Lara's response was harsh. She was helpful in alerting the member to several other threads that entail a more comprehensive response from dozens of members to guide her in how to use MSFs and beauty powders. It took her time to search out those threads and post them here (which the original poster did not do). When a moderator posts links to previous thread, it's meant to cut down on duplicate threads and also help the user find responses to questions that have been asked before. If anything, she should be thanked for alerting the poster to other helpful threads. I think people often misinterpret a certain "tone" to a message when it is only meant to be helpful. Also, I am pretty sure the product released with the Raquel Welsh collection was a beauty powder, not a mineralized skinfinish.

You can do that if you like the effect as there is no ONE WAY to use makeup, but most people I assume only apply Shimpagne as a highlighter. It's not really meant as an all-over face powder. You can apply it on the bridge of your nose, on your cheekbones, and even on your browbone to give a light shimmering effect. The 187 brush is perfect for this. You can even use it as you would an eyeshadow highlighter.

She was being very helpful, given the long list she researched. I think people read too much into computer posts for the most part, imagining a rude tone, etc. when that is not what was meant. Stating please do a search next time is not rude.

I don't think it is, as ideally, this is what people should do when there is a question at hand that was most likely asked and answered before, knowing how popular some products, techniques, etc. are. It also makes our job easier!

You can use the MSFs any way that you like to really. I use it on my cheekbones and temples for a highlight. Some of them are excellent as a blush or eyeshadow. Experiment and see what works for you best.

I don't think Lara was being rude. She was trying to be helpful.

I never said she was being rude I said harsh, the two are different. I realize that it's frustrating when there are duplicate posts but words don't come across the same on the computer.

I'm just glad I didn't get the same response when I was new that's all.

That's ok, just so you know to search next time.

For those who are complaining, all posts like this get the same response of a summary list of previous topics and a request to conduct future searches. It's not harsh, it's just moderating.

I am really sorry for the ruckus that I caused over my post. I am a newbie to Specktra and there is so many posts and info on this site that its kind of hard to navigate and I am trying to get the hang of it.
I didn't find Lara's response rude, maybe a little startling (sp?) but not rude.
Again, I am sorry for causing a ruckus here. I promise to do a more formal research on the board.
