Learning options

I want to learn how to do makeup, but dont want to do it as a career (already have a good job) its basically for my own personal uses. But i want it to be high standard if you get me not like what you wear to a Prom or something like that kinda like the looks that MAC do and smashbox. What would you recommend?

I have been into MAC for about 2 years. The way i have learned is through Specktra (tutorials, CC from my own fotds, other fotds, tips, etc...truly invaluable info!), taking a couple of lessons from MAC artists...call your local mac to inquire or ask about specials they may have regarding "Classes" (I had to buy a $75 mac gift card and I got a 1 on 1 lesson for free). And last but not least, practice! On yourself, friends, pets, etc.

Take lots of pics and you will see how you have grown and improved over time. I like to look at other specktra member's earlier fotds and compare themto their current ones. It is awesome!

I've improved the same way. Video tutorials are especially useful because it's easier to see the techniques and copy them on your own.

Also, you might want to go to a counter and get your makeup done. You can learn new techniques that way too.
