Let's face it...I'm weird about bread

This may sound really strange but I need to tell you guys and see if anyone else has this happen to them as well.
For some reason, I seem to have a super sensitive sense of smell and the main thing I have issues with is bread. I seem to be able to smell it when it's going stale before anyone else can smell it. What's worse, if I get a whiff, it makes me feel sick. I can't stand the smell and if I smell it, I WON'T eat the bread b/c just even putting it near my face makes me feel nauseous. It drives my family crazy b/c I refuse to eat any of the bread if I smell that scent and I can't really explain it. When I buy bread, I have to smell it first and most of the time I can smell it even in the plastic bag!! A few weeks ago my dad had me stop and buy some buns for a cookout we were having and I could smell the bread, in the baggie, IN THE GROCERY BAG!! It really weirds me out. It's been like this for years!
I also noticed the other day that it seems like this extends to cheese now as well. I opened up a brand new bag of shredded cheddar cheese and it had not expired yet at all. I happened to get a whiff of it and thought it smelled funny so I tasted it. It tasted funny!! Just to see if it was just me, I grabbed another already opened bag in the fridge and smelled it and it smelled fine to me. WTF?? Am I just a big freak or what?? Has anyone ever had this problem or is it just crazy me??

Apart from the smell of ham makes me wanna be sick. Infact most meat does!

I really want to hope that each person has something that the smell just gets to them. I could see where the smell of ham would be...yucky. It's just so weird that I seem to smell the "staleness" before anyone else... wonder if that's my "super power"??? LOL

Ironically, I am CRAVING chocolate milk now. lol.

I'm weird about bread too..I refuse to have it kept in the frig....Needless to say we buy a new loaf every 3 days,...Because it has to be fresh for me to eat it .

I was also going suggest that you might be pregnant, but I guess not.

Also, I don't think you're a freak. Maybe you just have a really strong sense of smell? Or is it just the bread and the cheese?

Oh, and I'm totally on board with the super power thing! Can I have teleportation? I think it's the most awesome-est super power, everrr!

I dont think I have super smelling powers. But the thought of milk makes me sick. Just...looking at it. Watching people drink it. Thinking about people drinking it.Ugh...it just makes me sick. I used to work at a convenient store and we had to pull the milk at a certain date, and id have to pour it alllll down the drain

But when I was pregnant I drank nice ice cold white milk everyday for weeks. I craved it, I loved it SO much. Then after a certain point I had to stop.

My SIL says that she used to be able to smell when her dad was eating Doritos...she'd be upstairs and she could smell them from downstairs

Cheese always smells bad to me even though I love it...I'm always asking my hubby to smell it...and he just says it smells fine...so I go with his nostrils ...But I can smell a person smoking 2 blocks away....My dh calls me bloodhound nose

You know, I can usually smell smoke from a distance too but I always attributed that to the fact that I don't smoke! I also seem to be able to smell if someone has been drinking, even if it hasn't been much. My best friend and I were roommates for awhile and I drove her crazy b/c I kept smelling things she couldn't smell. Then again, she had 2 small turtles in a tank and I think she just became immune to the stench!

you're prob just very sensitive to the mold spores or something that start growing on the bread and cheese as well. Most times, the bread will have a moldy smell when it's almost near staleness and the bread can have traces of the mold without it being visible to the eye but it is still safe to eat because it is such small quantities. But you are not weird. I am the same way with zipblock baggies. I can't eat anything that comes out of them and I can taste the plastic on food. I also smell everything before I eat it lol

Well "Super Sniff Woman", I have a bloodhound nose as well. My ex used to say i should have been on the Red Dog squad here (the narc unit of the APD).

I smell everything! I get soo happy when I get a cold, cuts scents down and keeps my brain from analyzing what they are and where they came from.

Maybe you could use your superpower for profit, like become a sommelier or something?
