Hey guys. I'm just full of issues and questions this week.

Anyway, I've always really hated my lips. They aren't smooth at all, they have these little lines so I always feel like lip products don't look right on me. I want to get back to wearing l/s and l/g but I need to find something that will help smooth my lips out. Any ideas or recs on products that might help with this????

alot of times, lips with lines are simply thirsty lips. try sleeping with vaseline on them at night and see how that works out.

i use tendertones on my lips when i sleep now and i wake up with full, smooth lips.

marine collagen will also help smooth out those lines, if they persist, before you apply any cosmetic lip products. sally hansen makes a treatment called "line fix" that has marine collagen in it, works pretty well.

Fusion Lip Gloss. I wear it 24 - 7. It does not burn like lip plumpers and it stays on. The XL is great for overnight, its full over hyaluronic acid and 12 percent microencapsulated collagen that passes through the lips and then swells up. Theysay for up to 2 days, but its like a day on me, but I always have it on, even over lipstick and it truly works (as all those reviewers in makeup Alley will also testify).

one thing u can do is use a lip primer.
second thing use moisturising formulas.
i am thinking if u apply a shimmery gloss (thick gooey mac ones) it should divert the attention from the fine lines..what does everyone think?

I actually find that the shimmery-ness emphasizes the lines, but that's just me.

Patricia Wexler M.D. has a line at Bath & Body Works, her lip filler works GREAT! They had a bunch at my outlet on sale... it was originally $20.00 too and it honestly makes my lips feel like silk. I don't have many lines to notice a filling difference, but if you have an outlet check it out because it was relatively cheap!

This is pretty much reiterating what everyone else said, but here goes. I have really line-y lips too, and what I have to do is stay hydrated (number one), wear lip balm constantly (especially to sleep), and use a lip primer (MAC Prep + Prime Lip is mine) when I wear lipstick.

Some days are worse than others; on a really bad day, even Prep + Prime isn't going to fix my lips, so I either exfoliate my lips with a soft old toothbrush or apply a lip plumper (I love Vincent Longo Bang! Bang! Lip Volume Lotion because it's matte) before I prime, or sometimes I do both of those.

I hope that helps you! Some days, I just have to swipe some glossy balm on and tough it out
