Lipstick problem

I have Myth lipstick, and whenever I use it, it comes off after like 5 minutes and my lips are ridiculously dry and look flakey. Why is this? x

Myth is a satin formula which can be slightly drying for some people (it dries out my lips in the winter if I don't let a lip balm soak into my lips before I put on the lipstick. Do you exfoliate your lips at all? I exfoliate once or twice a week with vaseline and sugar. Mix up a little bit of sugar with vaseline (or A&D ointment, which I actually prefer) on the back of your hand, and use a q-tip to gently rub over your lips for about 30 seconds or so, then wipe off with a soft tissue, and apply a good, moisturizing lip balm, gloss, whatever you prefer. I usually use Rosebud's brambleberry rose lipbalm. Your lips should be soft and luscious afterward.

Also, you can try a lip primer to help the lipstick stay on longer...I bought UD's box of potions, and I was really surprised to find out that I ACTUALLY like the lip primer. Make sure your lips aren't dry before you put it on, and don't put on TOO much, but I've found that it honestly helps with the longevity of my lipstick.

100% agreed and I LOVE UD's lip primer. I can literally feel my lips being mouisterized and my lipsticks/lipgloss stays on longer and it actually brings the color out more than if I just put it on my lips by itself.

Myth is one of those lipsticks that sucks the moisture out of your lips, so it is super important to moisturize and exfoliate your lips when you wear it. If you still find it too drying; try Creme D'Nude. It is a very close shade and is far more moisturizing as it is a cremesheen l/s.

Blankety maybe..? I don't wear either of them, but Blankety is an Amplified, which is creamier and less drying than a Satin. ...the suggestion of a lipgloss is good too though, you could get a nice pinkish lipgloss to put over it, which would make it a bit more pink, and also help add some moisture.

Are you using a lip primer? I have dry lips too and even some of the primers I have tried made my lips look flakey and dry, similar to what you're going through. I really like MAC's lip prep + prime because it moustrizes my lips and also helps the color last and go on smoother. I don't have Myth, but I have other satins and like everyone said, they can be a little drying compared to some of the other textures. I LOVE blankety because it's SUPER creamy and never dries out my lips, even without a primer or base. It's a great nude and the color lasts a lot longer than some of the other lipsticks I have from MAC. It's my fav lipstick!
