liquid eyeliner for beginners

I'm 25 years old and still suck at applying liquid eyeliner - but LOVE the effect of it so think it's time I really start practicing.

I was thinking of buying the mac's penultimate liner but been reading bad reviews about it... I like the idea of a pen liner because application sounds easier... SO -

Oh experienced ones, do tell, what is a good liquid eyeliner for beginners?

Honestly I never liked liquid eyeliner. When it dries and sets it sort of looks like a shiny sticker on your eye and it's not much easier to apply than a gel cream like blacktrack fluidline. I'd say blacktrack all the way. The type of brush you use will determine the ease of use. What look are you trying to achieve? Cateye?

Cateye is exactly what I'm trying to achieve, yes. I like that liquid eyeliner looks a bit glossy... but so your advice would be a gel liner with a good brush? I have a really thin one that I use for my eyebrows but it's not angled.

Hey girls! Sorry about this late reply I never got a notification :/

ANYWAY, thanks for the tips!! The video is very helpful Nikki thanks a lot (and you're so pretty wow!) I already had backtrack so been practicing with that doing ok I think!

But also went out and got a felt tip applicator line: mac's super slick liquid liner - loving it so far
