So today was my official first day on the floor at my counter!!!

And as nerve racking as it was...becasue I havent been to basic and honestly I feel like I pretty much got set loose on my own I think it was amazing and I already feel like I learned a ton!

So here's my random little question..

My brushes, I brought them home tonight so I could paint the ends my own color, does it have to be a MAC polish??? or does it not really matter?

I used fabric paint....so I don't think it matters much. It's not like it's going to be true to color on a black handle anyways.

At our counter our manager gave us a lil label maker and we have our initials on our brushes.

We can't use nail polish - we all have stickers or colored tape. Our original manager didn't like np so on of that for us. But we've learned that people will scratch off np in a heartbeat. So we slap some tape around our stickers and I really never let my brushes out of my site.

I have my demo at your counter next monday!! (Bowie right?) I am so nervous. What exactly will I have to make my model look like? What happens when the demo is over. Please let me know!

Our manger labeled our brushes with a label maker then we were each assigned a number. This is a brand new counter so everything is spanking new. We each only got seven brushes because we didnt have much stock, hopefully that will change.
Anyway, however your brushes are marked don't let them out of your sight! As I use them, I put them right back in my brush belt, then just take them out to clean them. At first I started putting them down on tissues on the counter or drum tables when I was doing an application and I realized how easy it would be for someone to swipe them.
One of my co-workers lost her lip brush on the first day and is responsible for replacing it. :|

For the demo, our manager or assistant manager or maybe even Tanya (our regional trainer) will give you a look to do on your model, then she will either help you fix areas that need a little more work or show you a different technique of applying the product. Then comes more of the question answer interveiw between just you and her.

Good luck!!! I should be there enxt monday! I'd love to actually meet a fellow specktrette!!!

And as for scheduling..you normally only get one sat. off a month, at our counter, thats not really the case since we are so short staffed. everyone works on saturdays. if you say you're only avail. during the week, that will severely lessen your chances of getting hired. But good uck to you too if you apply!
