Hmmm im not a stylist or anything, but i was told that once u get a cut and ur trying to grow it out that its gets to a point where it looks like ur hair is at a stand still. i notice on my hair that it doenst want to do anything and it looks like that hair isnt getting any longer that it is time to get a trim or reshape the cut. Just keep the lenght add some layers and get a trim whenever ur hair doesnt hold the style anymore. Not a pro but this worked for me. i dunno if this info helps i tried

There is a point where your hair won't get any longer. Just like everything else in your body, the cells will reach a terminus and the hair will have completed its life cycle. For some people this is a very long period, for others it is shorter.

nothing will ever make your hair grow faster. All hair grows at about the same rate, which is half an inch per month. Getting it trimmed only makes it look like it's growing faster because you're cutting the split ends off, because if you really think about it, cutting it is not a chemical change in any way, there is no way it could actually make your hair grow faster haha. You should also invest in Biotin, which is a vitamin that makes your hair and nails stronger, so your hair has less split ends and seems to be growing faster.

Yup, thats true. A trim DOES NOT make your hair grow faster. Cutting the ends have nothing to do with the roots (where it grows obviously haha).

RE: No pun intened I totally agree with what everyone is saying but u have to take other things in factor as well.

Putting pregnancy and illness aside, hair pretty much grows at a maximum rate of half an inch per month no matter what u do. A little faster in the summer than in the winter. Although there is nothing that you can do to make ur hair grow faster with current technology, there are a number of things that may actually slow the process such as; a poor hair care regimen, poor diet, illness, medication, male and female pattern hair loss, and emotional stress. Some of these things don't actually affect the growth rate per se, but they affect the hairs' health and unhealthy hair will probably not grow to its full potential. Besides regular shampooing and conditioning with good quality products, the only other thing that you can really do is take an inexpensive daily multi vitamin such as Centrum or even Flintstones.. Instead of spending an ass of money on Biotin ,or Zink. Both Centrum and lol yea Flinstones vitamins contain (Zink and Biotin). So i say keep ur hair trimmed, get ur style reshaped to keep the cut looking fresh. And keep healthy.

your hair's length has alot to do with genetics, as well. some people's dna just isn't coded top support long hair, so they'll never have long hair. your hair will grow to it's maximum potential length, and no matter what you do after that, it will stop growing because it's in your genetics. your dna says it won't grow longer, so it won't. there's nothing (aside from extensions) you can do once your hair has reached that length.

same thing with the volume of your hair, it's a genetic thing and there's not much (again, aside from extensions) you can do to fix it.

as has been said, your hair will grow a maximum of 1/2 inch a month. to reach that full 1/2 inch potential, you need to pay attention to your diet. eat things high in protein (ie. eggs, meats) and things high in iron (ie. fruits, vegetables) try to work towards a balanced diet. and especially for the 5 a day fruit sevrings. fruits have alot of vitamins and minerals in them that can help your hair grow strong and healthy. honey is also a good thing to keep in your diet

i also know for a fact that in Russia, there is a very popular remedy for unhealthy hair. it's a mixture of honey, vegetable oil and vodka (i saw you're born in 1987, so you may not be old enough to buy alcohol, i'm not sure what the laws on that are in Bham) so if you can't add in the vodka, definately try the honey/vegetable oil!

there are also some treatments on the market that can help with your hair problems. you might want to see if you can locate any of Dr. Miracle's products where you are, they're pretty amazing! if not, take a trip to your local beauty supply store and ask one of the clerks where you'd be able to find some strengthining/anti-breakage creme

genetics are very strange.

my sister has a very pale complexion and she absolutely does NOT tan. i have a darker complexion, and in the summer will get way dark. she has thick, red hair; i was born with very thin mousy brown/reddish blonde hair. all the ladies on my mom's side of the family have a thyroid disorder that my sister didn't get, but i did.

i spent YEARS studying biology to try and figure this stuff out hahaha but it's impossible!

I used to work in a salon.

and even thought cutting doesnt make it grow quicker....

if you have split ends, they can continue to split all the way up til the ends snap off... defeating the object of growing it.

So do makesure you get it cut every now and then, it can even be just a milimetre.

Im sure you do anyway tho
