Pressing piggies and blushes! WOOT!

My hubby ended up not wanting to help me, so my 17 year old son helped me.

Annnnd, he ended up making his own shadow, by mixing up some odds and ends, lol. I pressed it and put it in one of the palettes. He said if anyone asks what it's called, it's called Fo' Sho'.

Without further ado, here our handiwork (son's e/s is the last row, all the way to the left):

And here are my blushes. I know one of them is reallllly dark, but on the website, it was so NOT that dark. But I love it, so I'll end up using it as an eyeshadow, I'm sure:

On the palette above, the colors aren't showing up very well. The second one on top is actually a really light lavender color.

Anyhow, I still need at LEAST 6 more palettes to finish my eyeshadows, and I NEED to find magnets somewhere, because I didn't know the palettes weren't magnetized.

Man, I'm pissed!! I woke up this morning and 3 eyeshadows and 1 blush are back to powder form, in the little pan! Grrrr!

I'm off to the store....going to buy a C-clamp and some magnets.

5 hours?! You are quite the depotting maniac! Can't blame ya though, its just so FUN!

I think its cute you got your son involved and he helped make a new shade lol. Did you just have to ask him if he wanted to help or what? I don't know if I could have anyone help me out, I just love to depot so much.

No problem!

This is from left to right:

Pinky glitter powder (got a free sample from CS)
Silver Hologram glitter powder (other free sample from CS)
Glass Bottom Boat by EDM
Mystic Night by EDM
Cypress by EDM

ETA: Re-pressed the few that had turned to powder, and sure as chit, they're going powder again. For whatever reason, those few just won't be able to be pressed. Among them:

BE's Azure and Loli, EDM's Cypress, Fyrinnae's Pure Sugar, Winter again, Daemon's Tale, etc. etc.

I wonder if it's because they're shimmery?

Also went and bought some adhesive magnets...got a big ass roll. No luck. Those little pans just won't stick, though the magnets stick to the blush pans. *sigh*

Does double-sided tape hold on just as well as magnets? I don't have a MAC store around me so I've been using the E.L.F. quad palettes to hold some of my e/s. I tend to drop them a lot and completely freak out cause of it.

I have never use magnets before so I cant comment which is better. But at least for me, masking tapes (even better than double-sided tapes) works fine as well

LOL about the "fo'sho" shadow, high-five your son, that shadow is NICE!
i've seen somewhere here on specktra that you can't press anything with glitter, that it won't work, check the pigment pressing threads, i'm sure i saw it there.

You need to add a couple drops of glycerin to the mineral powders to make them press. Very nice and I love the name of your son's shadow!
