Loose powder issues, help me

OK, I need some type of finishing powder as I have oily skin ... is there a drugstore brand you can recommend or do I keep spending the money on BE's Mineral Veil? I use loose powder frequently being in Florida, touchups can be frequent some days. I mainly just use it to give my foundation a quick set and then my nose and/or t-zone throughout the day, or I use blotting papers. I also use it under my eyes when applying makeup to catch anything that falls. Anyway, anything in the drugstore that is good for skin, translucent, and decently priced? If not, something higher end but totally worth the $? Thank you.

Oh and IF there's a pressed powder you recommend even more than loose, let me know too. I am open to suggestions.

I really like L'Oreal's Translucide Loose Powder, maybe even more than the MAC Sheer Loose that I'm currently using!

Thanks, I go through a lot of powder and just wondering what the best for the money is and if coughing up lots of money is even necessary.

L'Oreal is actually pretty expensive in Australia (grrr) but I don't really think loose powder is something you need to spend lots of money on. I prefer pressed powder as it's less messy but I think loose powder lasts longer. I'm sure I've had my MAC one for months and months and months (LOL, I can't remember exactly) and I know that the Select Sheer is a pretty small powder compared to, for eg., MAC's regular loose powder.

You know what? I am using the NYC translucent powder to set my makeup right now. I paid $2-3 for it at Wal-mart, and I really like it; didn't think I would since it's so cheap. But it's good. I haven't used any other translucent powder as a comparison, but I do use MAC Select Sheer Loose in NC45 sometimes too. TBH, the NYC powder gets used more.

Hope this helps.

mac has blot powder in both loose and pressed for $20 each. to touch up with throughout the day, try the pressed. compacts are easier to touch up with since you can take them with you wherever you go without making a mess (like with loose). you can also set your foundation with it. if you want something to set foundation and use to catch shadow falldown, try the loose. because the loose contains talc, it is not recommended to touch up with throughout the day, since talc causes product buildup.

Maybelline makes a loose powder that is just like the Mineral Veil. Its from their new mineral line, works the same for less money! For touch ups I love MAC's pressed blot powder. Gets rid of all the shiny parts.

Bare Essentual's Mineral Veil is essentially coloured cornstarch. No minerals in that. MUFE has some wonderful powders in compacts or loose that keep the shine down, and so does NARS. Both of these are not shiny, and have many ingrediants like dimethicone so that the skin looks smooth but not shiny or greasy.

For high-end definitely MAC's loose or pressed Blot powder!

With drugstore brands I'd definitely go for Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral face powder..they have it in either pressed or loose. I love using this in humid weather.
