Lucky Green/With a Twist vs. Golden Olive

From the swatches I can't tell much difference, but from the way everyone loves Lucky Green I feel like I'm missing out on something. For those who have both LG and GO, can you tell us what the differences are, if any? Thanks a ton!

My Intense Palette should arrive in the mail tomorrow. I can swatch all three for you and give you the full "CSI" payoff and texture report then, hon.

i posted a swatch of both with a twist and lucky green in the formal black swatch thread, heres the link:
http://specktra.net/showthread.php?t=56743

I think the two colors are VERY similiar, with the same finish, but with a twist is a little lighter green. It is more of a "lime" where lucky green is darker with a more "olive" tone. Buuuut i definately dont think its absolutely necessary to have both.
I dont have green olive, but on the swatch thread someone else compares WAT to it, and they look almost identical.
hope that helps!

Thanks SheScreams! I did see the swatch before, and I'm trying to tell myself I don't need either Lucky Green or WAT because I have Golden Olive... but the way LG is praised it seems it may have something extra to it that GO doesn't have.

I need someone to kill my lemming cuz I'm already trying to figure out how to get the Warm Eyes, and it's only WAT that keeps me from letting go of Intense Eyes. I definitely can't get both! My budget's half-dead as it is! :conscience:

FWIW, Lucky green is pretty, but the quality is so awful that I can not even use it. LG is completely different than Golden Olive, I will try to describe them for now, because my camera battery is dead.

Chartreuse pro pigment is a cross between kelly and chartreuse color

Golden Olive is very antique gold compared to Chartreuse- there is a new olive green base to GO that gives it dimension.

Lucky Green is a matte metallic if that makes sense- like brushed metal.
The color is like you would find some of the leaves and grass after a very dry summer before they turn brown, they turn a very faded yellow green. sometimes celery leaves turn this color when they are very old.

Once I get my batteries charged up for my camera, I will attempt to take a good photo for you to show you the difference.

Although I love Lucky Green in color, the quality is so poor that I refuse to work for a really gorgeous eye look only to have it fade in under an hour.

Sweetscents.com has a pigment that is identical to Lucky Green which is called 12th night. The quality is better and the color is a bit more durable too- lots cheaper as well.

^ *lol* Wow, that is the first time I've ever read Lucky Green to be shot down! If the staying power's that awful, then I'll stay away. I read reviews complaining about its sheerness, but the reviewer stood by it anyway. Thanks Colorqueen! I look forward to the comparison pix!

*giggle*

I know. I was so upset when I put it on and then it was gone in half an hour.

So, I really packed it on and it was gone again. So I only keep it for comparison purposes. I can use it on clients who do not want intense coverage, and perhaps it will stay on them.

I can set it in lucky jade but frankly, I would rather go to all that work with another color or 12th night.

I am disappointed in MAC shadows now. Maybe it would work for you, but many of the new shadows do not stay on me well at all, even on bases.

The old MAC shadows stay on with no problems.

I bought waternymph going back on my promise of not buying MAC shadows. Then I put it on my hand, I was so excited and I went to blow off the excess, and blew it almost all off!

I was like NO WAY!

So I did it again and when I wear it on my eyes, it disappears - the only color in the combo that did too. I used older stuff with it or pigments.

I know that a lot of people swear by some of these shadows, but I want stuff to last a long time- I don't have time for high maintenance touching up when I go out.

Boo, that sounds so frustrating! Waternymph turns out to be okay on me, but it seems more pigmented than Lucky Green or With A Twist, at least when I swatched it at the store WAT seemed more sheer.

Waternymph seemed REALLY pigmented when I tried it on at the only MAC store I was ever able to go to a few times. I bought it for that reason- and was furious when I saw how easily it comes off.

I love the color.

I am just so tired of having to return MAC shadows or keep them unused, so I just won't buy them anymore.
