the colours are pretty. absolutely no doubt about that.

i was tempted by the green (lustreleaf?), the purple (can't remember the name) and chillblue, and also night train and casino. however, while the texture has improved, these are most definitely still lustre e/s. too much work, imho, to make them look good. casino looks very much like amberlights, btw. most of the colours were quite sheer. almost pastel on my ggg skintone. the ones with more colour payoff were too similar to things i already have.

the lustrelong wear lip colours are not as sheer as i thought they would be, so beautiful to look at, and i like the mirror top coat, but my lips HATE the texture, even with the top coat. neither the MA nor i could tell the difference between these and the pro longwear colours. i mean, there are supposed to be less pigmented (like lustreglasses vs lipglasses) but they had a lot of pigment. i tried two. so lovely to look at. sigh. but...they are hideously drying without the top coat, and with it, i still feel something funny is on my lips that i must get off ASAP. i do not feel like this with lipsticks or lipglosses.

prep and prime was just eh. seriously. my favourite MA (counter manager) did a whole makeover/tried them on me. just okay. i prefer paints.

so...keeping in mind:
1. i spent a bazillion dollars in july, what with gold play, rebelrock, luella, tailormade, c-squeeze and on and on and
2. i worship veluxe pearls and the new ones are coming soon, not to mention naturally eccentric,

i bought nothing. which is a record for me. it has NEVER happened before...

i think i hear the sound of frost in hell...

Meh, my counter didn't have any of the new stuff today...I at least wanted to look at it, but it didn't come with their shipment. Did anybody else try and fail to check everything out? It seems like a lot of counters didn't receive it yet.

I saw the lustrelong but didn't try them as I hate two step lippies. The lustre e/s were kinda blah for me.. I liked mineralism but have too many similar shades. I may try to swap for it.

I got Lustreleaf & Fineshine. I was going to get casino, but when I put it next to amber lights to compare them, they were identical. So I obviously didn't get it. I may get chill blue on sat. when i go get my makeup done.

I'll probably check them out still just to see how they look like if I go to a counter or store, but from what you said I don't think I'll be buying anything. My wallet is thanking you right now

Lustrevision/Lustrelong Thoughts...

Went to the counter after work today to check out the new stuff...for the first time, I wasn't impressed...

Lustrevision: the shadows were very sheer, almost pastel-like and I found it very hard to achieve a decent color payoff with them. I didn't notice a change in the texture of the Lustres as most MA's had said. They still seemed very glittery and shimmery, and the glitter flaked off soon after I applied it.

Lustrelong: Didn't try any of these, as I haven't been a fan of MAC's longwear colors...but I did notice that they were very pigmented, I found it hard to tell the difference between these and the prolongwears previously launched...

Kind of dissapointing, but then again, it wasn't a big collection launch, so I'll live...

However, I did finally pick up two of the Lipgelees!! Thanks to all your suggestions, I ended up going with Glosspitality and Jelly Babe...they are gorgeous, very sheer, smooth and moisturizing...I'll definitely be back for more.

I am not buying anything from those two releases. Or Prep + Prime for that matter.

I thought I was going to go hogwild with Naturally Eccentric but after seeing pictures, I don't like the Inventive Eyes quad whatsoever. So unless the other quad is just fabulous, I will pass on that collection too.

My wallet thanks me

I wasn't able to order my stuff today, my counter didn't had Prep & Prime. They will call me when they'll receive it.

But now, I'm glad that I didn't ordered already!

I was supposed to buy 3 Prep & Prime things, and everybody say it's not spectacular.

So maybe I'll save my cash for something else.

Same exact here! i went in really for prep and prime but they had it delyed for soem reason, i was liek not agian! they said yea were saying the same thing! lol. The lustrelongs were all pretty but nothing new from the other shades before them, they applied and looked the same, so skipped em, I love shadow collections but5 i went in not excited to see they decided on lustre's, becuase these are so hard to work with, i was let down so bad. I walked away with only chillblue from that collection being that it to me was the most pigmented *different* color. I was let down by reblerock (only two shadows there) and goldpaly was ok but i alread have 2 of them, lustrevision was bleh the shadows went on with only chinks of glitter (romantique was the worst)! more money for the new velux pearls! (im 50 50 about naturally excentric)

I'm not a fan of any of the Longwear products...

I work for MAC so when I go to work and new stuff is out, I play with it, see if I like it.

Maybe it's me, but the Longwears dry out my lips and irritate them.

Gelees, reg. Lip and Lustre glass are more my thing.

For some reason I wasn't too tempted with these, maybe its because I'm too poor from June and July and my rebelrock haul was just pitiful. <sigh> I can't wait for mid September to get here so I can buy mac again.

I received my lustrelongs due to a glitch in communication between me and the MA at the pro store. She actually put 20 on my order because she thought I wanted everyone! However, I tried one and decided to keep ten of them. I really like them a lot more than I thought I would. I tried the Pro Longs and hated them. They felt so heavy on my lips and it felt kinda grainy. I am not getting this with the Lustrelongs. It is definitely heavier than the lipglass or regular luster but the staying power is phenomenal and my lord, the mirror gloss is gorgeous. I am gonna give these an enthusiastic thumbs up!
