and a bit of

i got the SE 187 that came in last year's brush set. I heard so many raves on this brush and when i used it. i was disappointed, i mean didnt pick up the blush nicely or anything like that. Is it specifically for foundation? can it be used for Natural MSFs?

IMO the 187 isnt all that. *hides*

Hmmm well I am not brush expert by any means but I do have this brush. I love it because it is so soft and it works well with my msf, and blush. My suggestion would be that if it didn't work for you, the next time you go to MAC play with some different brushes until you find one you like. Not every product works for everyone, no shame in that

I like to use darker blushes with it.
The 187 seems to spread less on so it looks really natural.
you can use it with dry or cream products too.

I had the same thing happen to me with a 224se brush and then i went to the mac store and purchased a regular 224 brush. The ma at the store told me that the set brushes aren't of the same quality as brushes you purchase individually. I don't know if it's true or not but i just thought i would share my experience.

I quite agree with you on this but I think this depends on what you are going to use the 187SE for. I have both the regular 187 and the SE brushes and I love them both separately. At first, I was disappointed with the 187SE b/c it was too stiff compared to the regular but I found it later to be perfect for blending my SFF. With my regular 187, the brushes seem too soft and clump when blending, thus an uneven or streaky application for SFF but perfect for blush and my MSF. So now, I use my 187SE for SFF while the regular for blush, MSF and any other powder application. HTH a bit!

It's a black & white statement.....with a lot of gray areas, so to speak. I use my Patternmaker 239SE everyday and I've just started using the 187SE. I have no complaints about either.

The 187SE and the full size 187 are very different in quality. All you rave you hear is for the full size 187. i bought the SE set last year too but returned it when I saw the poor quality of the brushes. The SE brushes just don't compare to the full size ones.

If the full size is a 10, then the SE brushes are about a 6.5. I rather spend more money and invest in the full size brushes.

You are right. I definetly prefer the full size ones. I should have mentioned my is the full size one. I swirl it in the product to pick it up.
