Studio Tech broke me out something fierce but that's the only one I've tried.

(If she's already broken out, definitely don't try the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - it will only make it worse!)

Some of the foundations were formulated to be used only for photo shoots. I personally am not aware of which one's perhaps Martygreene or PinkCosmo would be able to answer this question. So....with that in mind, I would imagine if one of those were used daily it would tend to clog pores.

ALL on the MAC face products- foundation, moisterizer.. things like that (minus concealer) have made me break out TERRIBLY- like in a matter of a day or two... I think I'm gonna stick to the eye and lip products :p

Foundation for Acne Prone Skin

I really like mineral foundations for breakout prone skin. I used to have terrible cystic acne. I found Aromaleigh foundation and loved it. Covers beautfully, doesn't clog pores and has lots of colours to find your match.

Bare Escentuals are the best, goto Sephora, or QVC, best buys are usually on qvc. Also you can goto www.bareminerals.com

Use the search feature on specktra and search for BE or Bare Escentuals. Youll come up with tons of previous discussions on them

Does she have oily skin?

If you can find a color match, MUFE Mat Velvet foundation is oil-free and has great coverage.

LORAC's powder foundation also has good coverage & is oil-free.

If you wanted to try something from MAC, I's stay away from Studio Fix or Tech. Try the Select spf 15 foundation all over, then use concealer to cover whatever the foundation didn't cover.

I have terrible acne, but with the cleanser/toner/moisture regimen I'm using, I can use MAC without it breaking me out at all. My skin used to look a lot like your friends, actually, and now it's VERY clear and smooth...

Aside from the suggestions here, has your friend thought about going to a dermatologist? They'd be able to figure out exactly why she is getting acne/what they can do to fix it, and they also may be able to recommend a foundation to use that would not only conceal but also allow the skin to breathe/help clear her up.

If she hasn't tried Accutane yet and all else fails, that could really work. It's very strong and made for serious acne but my best friend now has completely clear skin after two rounds of it.

My savior was a DS brand that is basically the exact same as Proactiv, called AcneFree
