MAC brush advice

Hi,
I already have a 187 brush which I use to apply my MSF liquid foundation and then use my 150 brush to just sweep blot powder/ sheer select over my brow..... or do my powder blusher.

I was considering getting a buffer brush. Think its the 182. Do you think I need it or should I make do with my big 150 brush!

thanks guys

ps> I'm an NW50 and have only just worked out that in the warmer months I seem to have a better finish when i use my MSF liquid foundation. But sometimes I just need to polish my 'glow' iyswim. Powder (especially blot powder in deep dark) makes me look ashy, yet the SA said thats what i should be using. I prefer the select sheer pressed powder in NW50.

So which compact should i keep in my bag for touch ups? Am i better off buying blot film and slect sheer pressed powder in a compact?

To your first question, I would go with the 182, the 150 isn't dense enough to really buff on powder.

To your second question, have you tried letting the blot powder sit for a second, to let it set. Is it still ashy then? If so I would just stick to blot film. The Sheer Select is more of a translucent setting powder, I don't see it doing very much in the way of oil control, for the long haul anyway.

Are you using any primers?

What's a good nude lipstick?

I usually go for the red lipstick at the MAC counter, but I really want to find a nice nude lipstick.

Right now I use a shade from Avon (I didn't buy it, someone gave it to me, don't judge me!

) called "Cocoa" and I like the color, but it doesn't last... and I know MAC lipsticks definitely last. But I don't know which color is best.

I wear NW45.

I think no matter what the color of your skin is, from nw15 to nw50 most of the mac nudes look good on everyone.

I think the best bet is to look at the store and try them on, some nudes look grey on some but gorgeous on others.. etc..

-Blankety
-Myth

Re: What's a good nude lipstick?

I'm NC50 and I've been wearing MAC Polished Up a lot this past week to work. I tend to add a bit of lip/lustreglass (4N, Hey Sailor, Squeeze It) or lipgelee (Gemshine) on top, but it's perfectly fine by itself if you're going for an understated look.

You should definitely try Buoy-O-Buoy which is like a darker nude color or High Tea. Those are my two favs!

If you are just needing a brush to sweep over some areas to set the foundation, the 150 is okay...I like the 134 or 136, though. If you want more powder coverage but still flawless, go with the 182. Heavenly brush

Regarding the blot powder, it shouldn't make you look ashy, it should "polish your glow" hehe. Are you sure you aren't applying too much. When I am on the go, I use a travel brush with the compact, swirl it around to get it in there, then tap off excess before lightly sweeping over the extra "glowy" parts of the face.

I would go with the 182 because the 182 takes a lot of product and buffs it into your skin, whereas the 150 won't buff it into your skin. You need to buff in the powder especially with blot powder.

Re: What's a good nude lipstick?

I guess it really depends on your skincolor but i really like

SISS and Half-n Half. I'm NC44

I tried on buoy o buoy (spelling?) but i thought it was similar to a Viva Glam that I have. But I might get it later. Its a nice color too.
