MAC CCBs & Paints - is this OK?

Hello.
I am relatively new to MAC, and I have a doubt:

Regarding MAC Cream Colour Bases and Paints (and even Shadesticks), I understand that they are all good as a base for the entire eye, after Primer, to help shadows last longer and show more colour.
My question/s would be: which one of the three is better?
Does it make sense to wear all of them (or two) together on the entire eye area?

What shade is better for light to medium neutral skin tone?

And is it better to apply them with brushes or with the fingers?

Any suggestion regarding these thre products would be greatly appreciated, since I don't own any of them and want to try the out!
TIA!!!!!!

It depends on your preference. I have both and I like using the paints better since they have a more creamer texture and is easy to apply. The Color bases do almost the same, but its more sheer in terms of color and its more drier and have to work with it quickly.
You can try both with youir fingertips. If you do use your fingers, make sure not to tug on your eye.
If you want to use both, you can definitely do that. Use the paint as the base, apply the colorbase over it. It all depends on the colors you get in either one.

Hope that helps!

Re: Is this OK?

its all a matter of prefrence. personally, the only base i use is UDPP. I use it because it works with all colours (its nude) and lasts a long time and works.

Ive never used CCBS so no comment on that one
The shade sticks are ok. i mean, i liked beiging but otehr than that i found they were kinda difficult. some are hard and getting an even application/blending them could be difficult.
paints are alright, but they were kinda messy, and i still had some fallout with some.

i know a lot of the girls like paint pots.

Like i said, my favourite is UDPP and 2faced shadow insurance. works for everything!!

i find the paint pots are a little more effective than the paints. The paints dry relatively quick and if you don't blend in time, you'll end up with a harsh line. The paint pots stay a bit creamy and make it easy for you to press your eyeshadow into the paintpot. with that being said, sometimes if someone is very oily, the paint pots could crease. I've never had a problem with it, but i say if it doesn't crease, the paintpots are the way to go.

Cream colour bases are OK if you're not needing a boost of color from your base. However, theyre even more creamy than paint pots, so they may crease even more. I have about 15 cream color bases and never reach for them

and as far as shadesticks, forget about them. what a waste of product, i cant believe mac still even sells them.

weird. i only use shadesticks as a base for myself, and for customers. they're the easiest to use imo.

As someone who is super oily, I can only get away with paints as a base. CCBs crease within the hour on me, and paint pots are far too creamy as well. I find shadesticks drag too much when I try to apply them and they too crease on me. I've had the best luck with paints, but maybe that's just me

for me paints are my fave. the tube is easy for transportation. they are great for oily lids because they don't tend to crease.
