MAC Copyright Infringement

I have a feeling I put this in the wrong place, so move this thread as you see fit!

I was wondering about MAC's policy on copyright infringement, because on my campus today I found a college party flyer using the Barbie Love MAC poster pictures (the ones with the 2 girls who look like Barbies) to advertise for a Barbie Look-alike party. MAC wasn't credited anywhere on the picture that I could see I also saw it on facebook, heres the link:

If you can't see the link I'll be happy to scan the flyer I picked up and post it. The facebook flyer is only the back of the real one, the other side has a much more obvious pic.
Anyway normally I wouldn't care but this thing they're having is ALL ABOUT objectifying girls. The girls they're inviting are all going to come into the club looking like blow-me Barbie, and the three 'hottest' ones win a spring break vacation. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing MAC would like their promo pics associated with. Anyway, sorry for the long post, but if anyone knows MAC's policy on this kind of thing I'm really curious to know. And I'd also like any opinions you have

if mac doesnt care to do anything about terrible ebay fakes with their actual logo on it, i don't think they will even glance at a college poster using a promo image for a past collection.

True, but the horrible eBay fakes aren't promoting the objectification of college girls.

Well apparently Lauder is pretty serious about their promo images (not sure if its just over the not yet release items or not?),. they got on Specktra about posting promo images in the color story threads way back in the day, over a year ago,.. if you are concerned you could always just report it on the MAC website (send viewable link to scan, like posting it in photobucket),.. then if they care,.. let them deal with investigating. That would at least fullfill what you seem to feel is your moral obligation??

Women get objectified every minute of every day. I doubt MAC will care at all about someone using that picture for a party ad. If a bunch of women want to dress up like hos to possibly win a vacation, who cares? It sounds to me like you have kind of a sour grapes thing going on, because reporting something like this is not going to stop women getting objectified. If that was really your concern, a better idea is to form some kind of women's group or something, and be proactive about it, not tattle on somebody throwing a party.

I think it's great that you care and I agree with glittergoddess27 to send it to someone on the MAC website. They should make sure it gets to the person or department it should.

The girls involved are not thinking for themselves and just following what the media puts out there of what they should be like. Keep on standing up for girl power and maybe some of these girls will stop and think about how this kind of thing affects society as a whole.

I never said I wanted to report it, I was curious about your opinions and their policy. Don't call me out for something I didn't say. I also never said I was going to go on a crusade about womens rights, I just pointed out that MAC wouldn't want their work stolen by something trashy. Kay?

And GlitterGoddess thanks for actually answering my original question about the policy!
