Hi all, I have searched and searched the forums and I haven't seen much on this, so please forgive me if it's been talked about to death lol. I was recently invited to the Make Up Art Cosmetics Event held at my local freestanding store and I have no idea what to expect. It is this Tuesday the 11th from 7-9 and there will be food and cocktails. When I RSVP'd they asked me what time I wanted and I chose 8. I am a little confused about why they need to know the time I will be there? No one mentioned a makeover or anything, so why would they care what time I was there? Also, what should I wear? I don't want to be too dressy, but I still want to look nice. Can I buy products from this collection while I'm there? I am pretty excited about it and I really hope I can before the 'public' can - sooo cool!

Anyways I think that is all of my questions lol, thanks in advance!

You don't have to have a makeover when you go to the event. You can purchase some items from Makeup Art Cosmetics early and/or preview of what the collection looks like in person. When you RSVP, they ask you what time and how many guests that you are bringing. They need to know this since they'll put you on the list and to make sure your there on time. You don't have to be dressy. You can wear whatever you want.

Yes you can B2M at the event. It's not tacky to B2M for a free eyeshadow, dazzleglass, lipstick and/or lipglass.

I got invited to the Make Up Art Cosmetics event too, which will be my first one. I think they sign you up for a specific time to make sure the store doesn't get super full at any one time. For example, if everyone showed up at 7 when it starts there wouldn't be enough space to look around freely.

I'm excited to get to preview/buy early!

i don't know why but i love going to these, i love being able to get stuff before other people i don't know why but it's nice to not have to worry about not getting what you won't or just being able to see it in person is nice as well.

Sorry for invading your thread! But I figured it would be better to stay in this one than start a new one...

Anyway, I've bought a bunch of things from MAC before but actually this is my first time being invited to one of the launch events! It's for the new collection being released on August 20th, I believe, and they require a $50 minimum purchase. The guy at MAC who told me about it just joked that it's "basically chaos in here"! It sounded really fun though!

Anyway - just wanted to ask everyone here! Anything I should know/keep in mind for this event?
