MAC - eye kohl question

hey i was just wondering if anyone used the mac eye kohl pencil? if so, can u use it as basic eyeliner cuz it seems a little soft and smudgey? sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but i hardly wear makeup. and do you apply it to the top or bottom? or both? Thanks

i used to use smolder eye kohl i'm not sure if that's the one you are reffering to. I line my waterline with it and i line my upper and lower lashline with it aswell, i sometimes even smudge it using a smudge brush.

I now use the feline kohl power (limited edition). I do the same thing when i don't want to wear eyeshadow.

I have some eye kohls and have used them on my upper lashline, lower lashline and waterline. If you apply it with a heavy hand, it may well smudge, but you can always either put a shadow of some sort on top to set it (and that shadow colour will really stand out!) or smudge it out with a brush preemptively. Of course, I also find that if you apply it more lightly there are no problems.

Kohls can be applied on the upper or lower lashline, on your inner rim/waterline, but they are a creamier substance so they do tend to fade a bit and smudge.

If you want a longer lasting kohl (not as soft though), get technakohl.
