Mac - first timer

Hi all,

I'm new to this board (and Mac) and felt the need to share my newly found addiction.

Last weekend I aquired:

woodwinked
mulch
vanilla
gleam
honeylust
cranberry

10 minutes ago I ordered:

goldmine
aquadisiac
holiday/formal black - intense eyes
technakohl liner in graphblack
origins placement brush
origins contour brush

And next weekend I'm dragging my significant other down to Portland in order to pick out l/s, blush and possibly more e/s!

I'm overly excited to use all of my new goodies, and am 100% addicted to Mac now.

what do you mean by 'sadly'? =P the deftones are amazing! I'm always blown away by how talented they are. I can listen to them 24/7 ....i think "the boys republic" is a song i missed out on--i couldn't get a copy of the limited release. What do you think of SNW?

Love love love it! Cherry Waves is hands down my fav. I've been fortunate enough to see them twice this year.. once on the taste of chaos tour and 2 days after the release of SNW in Seattle.. they were beyond amazing. It's always awesome to find someone who shares the same kind of love for them.. it seems like Deftones fans are the most hardcore - you can't just like them, you have to LOVE them

HAHA. i love how this post has turned into a "I heart deftones" spiel. I went to Taste of Chaos as well! That was fun. Somehow they skipped Canada when it came time to promote SNW (?)....I'm crossing my fingers that they will eventually make it here though. I'm hooked onto SNW but it's incredibly different...I love how haunting "Beware" is.

I wanted to take a SNW girl-like photo--i love how the album cover looks (have you seen the other fan photos?) but i couldn't figure out how to make it look all wav-y, transparent, and glow-y. (haha does that make sense?). How long have you been a fan?

I thought they were playing Canada before they went international? I guess I was wrong though? I think I know what you mean by the photo.. there's always photoshop? I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to makeup. I've been wearing it since I was 13 but have pretty much been using the same technique since :| heh. And I've been a fan since probably '99 or so. I honestly don't remember. But I've been an "eat, breath, sleep" fan for about 5 years now.

I was telling my bf last night that I found a Deftones fan on a makeup board, 2-in-1! He laughed at me.

first of all - Welcome to Specktra and nice haul!! I love Aquadisiac and I'm sure you'll like it too.

Deftones are one the best bands ever. I'm a fan since White Pony (still my favourite album) came out but havent yet seen them live

Why thank you! I'm the most excited to try aquadisiac, actually

My favorite is Around the Fur, but I love everything they put out. And seeing them live is definitely something you can't put into words. The energy they give off is amazing.

I've been to a lot of concerts and there is nothing like a deftones show! I actually got to hang out with Chino and the boys after a show during the white pony tour, now that was cool!
And I love SNW, I think kimdracula is my favorite. But it's so hard to choose!

They were staying in the same hotel as my bf and I when they played Seattle, but I'm not the groupie type. I have too much respect for them to stalk them like a little girl (in no way am I implying that that's how you ended up hanging out with them). That and I'm not one to get star struck. But I do agree with you, nothing can compare to a Deftones concert. They played in Portland the day after I saw them in Seattle and I was soooo tempted to make the drive back to see them again, but my bf wasn't having it

he tends to get jealous of my love for them.

yay! it's exciting meeting fellow deftone fans. =) how did you manage to hang out with Chino & the gang after a show? I love how they're so orginial...nothing sounds like them. i also love kimdracula.... I think my top 5 would be:

1. Be quiet and drive
2. Pink maggit
3. Beware
4. Engine No. 9
5. Street carp

Are any of you on any deftone forums?
What would be your top 5?

That's not my thing either

I actually won a backstage pass right before the show from a radio station. Yeah, it was pretty low key - there were a bunch of people back there. I just chatted with them for a minute and told them how much I loved their music

I'm lucky - my bf loves them just as much as me!

steph - Top five huh? I don't know if I can do that

I'll have to think about it and get back to ya. And I'm happy to find deftones fans too!

I'm gonna check in with the deftones chat. Amazing haul btw.

Loved them in '96, Engine Number 9 would be my fav. track I'd say. The only weird thing I have with them is that they have amateurish guitar riffs, however catchy they are. And they lack guitar solos, I don't know if they just don't like solos or what... I mean, they are great entertainers and musicians, but I don't consider them artists.

I guess I just got too burnt out on them. Oh well.

I haven't heard SNW yet, but I hope it's better than White Pony because that one about put me to sleep. They seem to come up with the best catchy nu-metal tracks though. Apparently, they are doing something right.

I'm still jealous of your haul. I wish I had the skrilla.
