MAC Foundations question I've been wondering about

I was just reading the ingredients list for the MAC foundations and I've found that Studio Fix has pretty much only 7-8 chemicals/ingredients yet it's one of the foundations that makes most people break out. All the rest of the MAC foundations have WAY more ingredients and most of which I can't even pronounce. So does anyone know what ingredients in the Studio Fix Powder Foundation that causes breakouts? Because I would really love to try that foundation (since my new Clinique Perfectly real Compact has bismouth oxychloride =.=") and I'm also very acne prone.

Here is a link to the MAC Foundations Ingredients list:

I think a lot of people who wear Studio Fix Powder aren't protecing their skin with a moisturizer pre application. It's the convenient compact to throw in your purse and apply at any time of the day. Also, most people keep the sponge that comes with it.. and they don't change it out until they need to buy a new compact which can be causing break outs as well. I would never recommend using a sponge unless you are using a fresh one each day. Everytime you apply foundation with a sponge, dirt and natural oils from your face are transferring onto that sponge.. then you go and use the same sponge later that day, and then the next day, and so on, thus transferring all those nasty oils back onto your skin. I'm sure if people used a brush instead of a sponge to apply Studio Fix.. the break outs would be limited.

Anyway back on track...

Studio Fix Powder, in my opinion, is an amazing powder foundation if applied after a moisturizer.. otherwise it makes the skin look chalky and.. not so good. I'm not sure what ingrediant causes the break out.. but I've sold it to MANY people wih sensitive skin and as long as they are protecting their skin with a moisturizer and maybe even using a base with it as well.. they love it and it works well for their skin.

Maybe an esthetician in the house can look at the ingrediants and explain what is causing break outs though

Well, I am meticulous on the whole sponge thing, I never use the one from compacts and if i am putting on foundation with a sponge [and not brush] I always use a new one each time.

It's not so much the ingredients, it's the product itself. Powder foundations are known to cause a reaction in the form of pimples/blackheads in certain skin types.

Usually the customers who say it makes them break it out - which have been rare with me - have dirty gross soggy sponges in their compact.

studio fix is non-comedogenic, so it is not the product that is causing breakouts. it is either using a dirty sponge or a dirty brush. the sponge needs replaced regularly, or use a powder brush that gets cleaned at least once a week.

Oops, looks like I should be using a moisturizer with my Studio Fix. :X I'm oily but it still lasts the whole day for me with Fix+ (no primer). It gets kinda chalky/patchy in some areas, but I was thinking for some reason I needed to buy blot powder to solve that problem. :S

I'm glad I learned the whole sponge vs. brush thing way before I bought it! I use my BB Face Blender brush and it works great!
