Best of luck...just do what you know how to do (and very well, I might add!) and you'll be fine...let us know how it goes!!

My Freelance interview was exactly like all of the permanent interviews I've heard about. Is it just spoken or are you doing a demo too?

Congrats & good luck!

Congrats Pascal you should do amazingly fine! My freelance interview was a bit different then the ones I've heard of on here. Mine was a huge group interview and there were at least 20 people there. Plus in the Bay Area everyone gets sent to downtown San Francisco for their freelance interviews and they have them once a month. You just call up and get put on a list.

Besides it being a group interview they ask you the same questions as they do in a one on one. So if it's one on one I'm sure you'll just go through the one on one interview and then the demo interview. GOOD LUCK!

i'm going to that freelance interview too! i'm so nervous. i have been freelancing/doing makeup for others when i can for a long time, but i don't have any professional portfolio put together or anything because i just do makeup for people i know/word of mouth, so i don't know what to do about bringing something besides my resume! i'll see you there!

You can't come up with just one person to be your model? A friend, a family member, even your mom or something? I wouldn't blow it off that easily, if this is something you really want then you should try hard to make it happen. Unless it's not something you really want and you're looking for an excuse not to go????

Um ...they can't take your word for the fact that you can do makeup. They need to see what you can do. I don't know ....from this post and the post above about how they supposedly treated you when asking about freelance makes me wonder.

Haha, I agree. You seem to be confused about what working for MAC means...you have to be able/want to apply makeup to the consumer, not just yourself.

Any job in makeup is going to require that you display your ability, MAC is not requiring something unheard of-this is quite standard and normal.

This sounds really bogus. What did you think working at MAC entailed? Just sitting there and putting makeup on yourself all day.... DUH
