MAC Macys Rant

I checked if Corp de Colour was up on Macys and guess what I found instead? They have Parrot, Guacamole, Crimsonette, De Menthe and a ton of other way DCd shadows. I know they don't have them. They are toying with us!

That's just cruel!

Oh wait, they also have the Danse individual shadows too. They must be putting Danse up and it went all haywire.

Yeah, it's happened before. Even if the site does let you check out and you give them your debit card, you get an email in a day or two that says, "Sorry, out of stock".

Oh, I see what you mean. It does look like it's messed up because the limited edition swatches are the old ones and the new swatches are of everything else. Wish they did have all those colors.

It was on Macy's website..but it was in error...they goofed and listed the discontinued colors as being in stock...

hahahaha, I totally tried to add Guacamole, Sweeten Up, and a bunch of other stuff to my cart earlier. Even though the page refreshes after you hit "add" it doesn't really add it. I was kind of disappointed even though I knew it was messed up and there was no chance that they actually had them, lol.

New bit o' the rant. I checked at 6:20a.m. today to see if the quad was up. I got a message when I tried to enter the website that said something to the effect of:

"I'm sorry, we'll be right with you. Please let the other shoppers finish their purchases and we can let you in"

Huh? Now I have to wait in line while on-line?

I have been livid about this since I visited the site LAST Wednesday, 12-20-06! I visited the site to see if they had anything about the new quad and saw the lightscapade icon. When I clicked on it, it would send me to the home page or the MAC homepage. So, I went to the eyeshadows and saw all of those (new) old eyeshadows added. Couldn't add them to my shopping cart, so I called CS. They said the website had a glitch and it was a mistake.

Also, when you add a regular eyeshadow to your shopping cart, it has the old price $13.

For a while there, my heart was fluttering w/happiness; and after finding out all of it was a "mistake", I went into a clinched-fist rage.....Ahhhhh!!

Rant over!!

F$ck Macy's! That's just cruel and unusual punishment! That's the last thing I want to see after waiting for freaking Danse to come up on the Mac site! Stupid, stupid Macy's!

Y'know what's weird - I didn't check all of them, but if you click on Angelcake or De Menthe, you get the "newer swatch." The broken eyeshadow rather than the solid block of color.

Yup.....I clicked on all the (newly added) swatches and the "broken eyeshadow" came up on all of them. This has been going on for a week now! You would think they could have fixed the problem by now.

Since I have bought only MAC from the Macy's sight, has anyone else noticed any glitches with other cosmetics on their beauty site?

Awhile ago, they had some seriously old stuff up on their site for months, so I emailed Macys web customer service. I told them that they have some pretty ancient stuff on there. They sent back a canned message that said that their stock changes so quickly that they can't instantly keep up with the changes on the website.

OK, ummm...huh...at the time I wrote them that email, there was stuff that was LE and sold out 2 years ago on the site. Yeeahh... that's "stock changing quickly alright".

discontinuations and price rises are the most important aspect of product maintenance on the web. discontinuations are hard to keep up with, but at the same time, if you don't do it you'll end up with some crazy threatening to sue you for false advertising because they don't understand what discontinued means.
